I originally purchased this game at launch in 2014, the game was undoubtedly broken and very disappointing. However, Zenimax have managed to resurrect the game from its beaten and player stricken roots. This type of "redo" was attempted before by many MMO's (such as Wildstar) and failed, I just wanted to express how much I believe this game has turned around with all the content, community feedback, frequent updates, zoning and influx of people. I thought World of Warcraft would be my MMO for the rest of my life, this is for sure a strong contender! Also with Morrowind on the way things are going to get sexy

I guess it's praise ESO day today lol (referring to the other thread calling it best mmo of 2017).

I do still love playing ESO but i don't really see the big changes myself.
We really need new things to do and hopefully morrowind will bring just that.

It's almost as drastic as FFXIV. That game just ekes out "most improved", though, since the systems and design were fundamentally overhauled. ESO had a solid foundation, lore and architecture that they've kept refining.

I don't see myself playing another MMORPG for at least a couple of years till the next-gen action MMORPGs hit. Even then, we'll see. ESO is just so easy to pick up and play.

Sexy for real. If they can balance out all of the classes (Nb/warden/?templar?) For both pvp and pve further all while introducing Morrowind and new sets that are not bs..wow this would be amazing. I get what you are saying but there is still work to do, no days off playa it is right over the horizon...I can smell it (nb buff for pve + purge+magnb buff pvp)...I can taste it (warden being balanced and actually cool)...I can dream it(stam buff in pve generally)...knightmares (unnerf radiant destruction..)

The game needs battlegrounds and transmogrification type system and it will be a very solid mmorpg.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

ESO has the BEST art style of all MMOs in my opinion. Very subjective, I know, but ESO is the only MMORPG that makes me feel like I am actually playing in a real world. Not some overstyled comic look or super japanese whatever.

This is western oldschool RPG style.

However, to succeed with this approach, they need to add more stuff that is actually in line with that old school RPG flair.

The people who want a modern looking stylish RPG will not stick with ESO. It is the people that love TES, Skyrim and DAOC. I would even guess that the average age of ESO players is higher than for your average MMO.

Since making content for one-use is totally expensive, and not a good long term strategy, ESO really should focus on getting more systemic and dynamic stuff into the game, like the justice system. Those things are a real game changer.

There is that, indeed (the aesthetic). At first, I thought: "this is really bland." However, that's having come from 5-10 years of Korean and Eastern MMORPGs where everyone is dressed in variations of chain mail t-shirts and thongs and has glowing angel wings. So, yeah, compared to that circus, a plain old wizardy fellow or knight is dull as dirt.

After a while, though, it's that same aesthetic that won me over and immersed me further into the world. It's become my prefernce now: realism over highly stylized cartoon fantasy. Just the other day, I tried playing the relaunch of Skyforge on PS4-; played it on PC a year and a bit ago and came away thinking it looked great but played terribly. Now, I thought it looked bad and played about the same.

There's a hidden elegance to the aesthetics of ESO. It's understated, but consistent and believable. The environments are top notch too.

All that said, those buttflaps and saddlebags on armor have to go.

Can we not mention pc launch please lol. As for"praise zos" I much prefer these to negative toxic threads that keep poping up.. not the actual feedback ones with a point but the pointless QQ ones. I have been here sombre beta and eso had matured quite a bit. Both good and bad, but in the end I still love this game.

Honestly, before One Tamriel, my client very rarely ever crashed, maybe once a month. Sense One Tamriel, I crash at least once a day, usually multiple times. And a little less than a month ago, I was having to do a client repair every day because I was getting the crash error just after click play on the launcher. I had to do a client repair just a few days ago. And I didn't have this many problems with the client at launch of the game.

With all of that said. I still think it's a great game, I am still subbed, and will continue to be subbed. One Tamriel has it's good and bad points. It's easier to find people to do things with. Craglorn quests are now solo-able but just before One Tamriel, I had finally gotten to a place where I could solo most of Craglorn. I was on the last leg of the quest in lower Craglorn, just needed a few people to help me open the doors. Never got any help, not even from guildies. I have mixed feeling not being able to solo world bosses. It feels a lot like old Craglorn trying to find help on new characters. And probably conflict resource nods. I love going to unpopulated zones and farming max level resources, I just don't like that I can't get low level mats. (Personally, I would like to be able to reset single skill points, instead of reset everything. Just have it give you the plus/minus and charge you accordingly.)

    All in all, GREAT GAME.

    I agree.

ZOS has done and actually phenomenal job of turning this MMO around over the last three years. While I don't agree with every change, and indeed some of the ones coming down the pipe very soon have me a bit... irked, there really shouldn't be any argument that ESO has effectively been reinvented (for the better) over the last three years.

The future does indeed look bright for the next year or so going forward, and I'm excited to see the game grow! :)
