Cyrodiil Alliance War and Multiple Guild membership

khandakar.faisal
Just need to know, when I am in Cyrodiil war and with my own alliance, is it possible to send advance warning (whisper) to another alliance member by using my Guild (who is actually from another alliance)?

    Yes.

You can chat openly to other factions via guilds or whispers, only zone chat is locked to faction in Cyrodiil.

So other alliance will also know what we are chatting about in cyrodiil and by zone? Whisper will not work?
    P.S. Playing PS4

My examples were for PC and text chat but they work the same to my knowledge just with voice for console players.

If you're using guild chat and there are members of the enemy faction in your guild yes they can hear all your plans, it would be on the guild leader to try and assure/check enemy players are not members.
You may have loyal members with alts, but if an enemy player is actively spying then this would be a way.

If you're using private chat with someone of your own faction only they will hear it, but you can private whisper an enemy faction to give information about how the map is looking or where raids are heading.

Thanks, that what I thought. Wonder how other alliance knows what our move and ambush when.

Sometimes this is just predictable travel routes, or planned attacks.

I used to lead raids for a couple of years so I can try and give you some insights and advice, I can't say if it's still relevant because I don't lead any more and have not done serious PvP in months.

If you're playing to capture the map and not for just PvP against players you need to do some "PvDoor" where you'll siege empty keeps because of strategic gains.

    Prepare Empty Keeps
When you have an organised raid and you're taking an empty keep not on the front lines as long as you're not spotted you can "prepare" the keep.
this means taking the keep down to 55% HP on the outer and Inner walls. You can do this with stone trebs (best DPS vs walls/doors) by placing some close to the walls so they can fire over and in.
Have people stop shooting when a wall hits 55%, if you're really good have one player bring it down to 51%. Once it's that low tell your group to open fire and bring it down ASAP.
The reason for this is a keep will only show as under attack when it goes below 50% HP on a wall, if no players have seen you then they you have gained the benefit of only 50% on each wall to bring down before they arrive.
If you're spotted open fire as much as you can to get one wall under 50% and lock the keep from transit.

    Off The Roads
When moving especially with locations like Allessia Bridge or Chalman Mile Gate, consider going around the longer ways as your raid is less likely to be seen.

Less on Flags / Split Flags
The flags have a capture limit (6 I believe) so when you're standing on them and not contested don't place a whole raid on a flag. Break them up or have people stood around and away. This stops a hidden train from taking your whole raid with a well done sneak attack as people can "starburst" in different directions faster and avoid the train.

Rob'ing the Keep (Inner Wall Siege)
Named after our old commander RobWoods this is for stacking on the top level of a corner tower with your raid. You can place 3 trebs up here if they're done in a triangle with one point being where the mage was. Then you can place a siege shield and effectively turtle up against counter siege.
Sometimes also allowing oil to be placed over the stairs to the top floor to hit those coming up.

    OpSec / Misleading Intel
If you strongly believe you have spies then give incorrect information or use OpSec.
This is something from EVE Online fleet commanding I bought to ESO and worked well. You can say one thing on voice and type another or you can never say a location and just say "follow the crown and don't talk about anything we do"
If you've run with a group for a long time this can work great as they know what to expect from you and what you expect from them.

    Bait Siege
Have one or two members of your guild go and place siege on a keep and start bringing it down. Before they hit the 50% and flag it to everyone then have them place a bunch more siege which they don't use, this will make the attack tooltip say "14 siege" attacking when only two people are there.

    Line Breaks
Attack keeps which are the only transit line to the centre of the map, this will force enemies to run longer distances or to come and stop you.
If you have two good raids under your command and they don't own their outlier (very map edge) keeps you can hit two home keeps at once and stop them having any map transit.

@Nermy pinging you because I am old, anything good I missed?

He said to the his OWN alliance... :p

@Turelus You have probably forgotten loads but I can't think at the moment. WJ tactics have changed a lot since you were leading. E.g. We hardly ever siege walls anymore as we can open gates so quickly now. I timed it once and we can open both gates in little over a minute. We have what we call the 'Wabba Gate Siege' because we have a special way of placing siege for max power and we use ballistas a lot more as you can place them much closer and quicker.

Aye. Mainly why I try not to pass too much knowledge on as "I know" as I am so out dated.

Putting "/g2 THEY ARE HEADED TO ARRIUS GUYS" in zone chat after someone makes that call (just put an extra space before the "/") usually gets a quality reaction.

There was a time I wanted to be a spy, and I would have been a good one. :)
