Leveling a Nightblade - Beginner Questions

I went through ESO Head and I have decided on the following abilities for leveling my nightblade

Assassin's Blade -> Killer's blade
Shadow Cloak
Strife -> Swallow Soul
Flurry -> Blood Thirst
Twin Slashes -> Blood Craze

I believe this setup should be good for leveling.

Also I am thinking of leveling Magicka as I am a person who uses Shadow Cloak often to move away from mobs.

But apart from Strife and Shadow Cloak all my abilities use Stamina.

So I am wondering whether I should just go as Stamina Nightblade for leveling ?

Can someone provide their thoughts on this ?

Also would appreciate any race choices for either specs (I did not know racials are quite important earlier)

Thanks guys !!!

    New to Eso? Visions of slicing and dicing melee fun? Save yourself oodles of frustration and roll a Magic Sorcerer. I'm not kidding. Run away from Stam Nightblade. Run! Don't look back, just.... RUN!

    Stamina nightblade has no heals until vigor. 100k ap in pvp. Or 2 hander level 42. (when you around level 40)

    For that reason Stam nightblade is that hardest class to play for a new player.

    Also mag nigblade is not really that good end-game except for bombing in PVP.

    Cheers!

    You don't want to be too reliant on cloak, 99% of the important mobs and enemies that are gonna make your life hell will make that skill useless.

    Stamina nb has it rough with limited healing and ESO isn't too kind with hybrid builds. In the case of using strife, its heal is based on the damage you've done. It shines most from magicka builds.

    Is it pvp or pve you're after? Either way, I would suggest googling a few builds and understanding why. Gilliam has some great videos up on the nightblade to give you an idea what you'll be working with.

    By 'leveling' do you mean grinding or just doing the quests normally? If you are leveling by doing the quests, to be honest the build doesn't matter too much. You can use any random gear (preferably crafted training trait on everything)and just keep swapping out the abilities on your bar when you turn in quests.

    If you will level up by grinding, then you want to use spammable AOE damage ability (either magicka or stamina) and just keep swapping out all the other abilities on your bar so you level everything up.

    Ideally by the time you reach 50 you want to try to have all three armor skills, fighter's guild, vampire/ww, all your class abilities, and either all the stam weapon skills or if magicka, destro, resto and s&b leveled up to 50. Then you can go back and quickly grab all the mages guild lore books and skyshards.

    Learn to light attack weave (also known as animation cancelling, look up Deltias Animation Cancelling on youtube) and you'll kill most things fast enough you don't really need a heal, but for when you do (you get your second weapon slot at 15) grab a bow and put draining shot (morph in Bow tree) on your bar until you get a real heal from either the 2h tree, or from the PVP tree.

    Plan on 4 skills + Ult to level with as you use the 5th slot to level other trees and weapons. You don't have to have the weapon equipped to train up that weapon just have a skill from that tree on the skill bar you use to kill enemies with. This will also have the benefit of training that specific skill as well so you can hit level 4 to morph it much faster.

    Hope that helps;

    I hear this so often, and it's bs. You can use bloodthirst and blood craze, reaper's mark, killer's blade, rally. All are available to stamina nbs, and they heal. Stop this nonsense with "no heals but vigor". I hear it too often.

    Stamina nightblade is super fun to play and if you are not aiming for competetive end-game pve, go for him. You will need vigor for effectively solo play (questing in claglorn, vma) but don't bother if you are still leveling. Bloodthrist and ambush are good enough to stay at your targets, keep attacking them for self-heal. If you like stamblade, don't listen things like "roll mag sorc". He is totally viable and fun to play.

    You can but sadly they do not come close to vigor for stamina builds. I hate PvP but had to do it. Fixed so many walls and doors....

    Well take your pick, stamina or magicka. It's all about preference.

    Bloodthirst is really all you need, and the healing increases the more dps you do.

    Actually MagNightblade might be the bis after the morrowind if they nerf recovery. And even as DPS wise MagNB's are really powerfull. My friend has but on 40k dps on skelly with a friend casting drain. I have both Stam and Mag Blades and I can really recommend them. They might be a little hard to handle but when you get used playing them it's really fun.

    First don't mix stam and mag skills. If you wan't to go dual wield go stam, if you wan't to go magica skills... well go magica.

    StamBlade is a little bit harder because you need vigor and it's one of the first priorities to get.

    MagBlade has a shield from the light armor skill tree, swallow soul for healing and can use destrostaff's skills like wall of elements, force pulse, ultimate etc.

    I think the biggest advance is the sustain. You can use Siphoning attacks and basically never run out of stamina/magica if you learn how to use it. Both classes can but out great dps and are fun to play.

    For races. Magica (Dark Elf, High Elf) Stamina (Redguard, Wood Elf, Kjahiit, Imperial)

    Just play as you feel its comfortable for you, time and experience will bring changes for you anyway and they will be much better than third persons advises, since it will be your OWN personal experience with your play-style.
