Master Writ drop rate?

Before the Anniversary event, my Crafter knew less than half of all the motifs. In the past week she has learned at least 40 new pages.
In the entire time since Homestead dropped, I have had a total of two writs with more than 7 writ vouchers as a reward - one paid 69 and the other 53 or something like that.
Seems to me that since the last patch a week or so ago, the rate of MW drop has decreased, because I'm lucky if I get a single MW paying 2-5 vouchers per day, doing 6 max level writs on 2 characters and 4 on another character. Meanwhile I see guildies getting MW worth 100 - 200 or more vouchers that don't even require one of the rarer styles, and zone chat is full of people wanting to sell MW with decent rewards.

Did they nerf the drop rate or is it that I used up all my goodwill with RNGesus asking for the final blue fish for Master Angler?

I also have much worse drop date of master writs since anniversary event started. I've learned ton of new motifs since last week, but I stopped getting master writs, even the ones for 2-7 vouchers... I think ZOS stealth nerfed it for the event.

Your motif knowledge will only contribute if you know the entire book for that style. Partial pages don't add anything. Also, while you may have an increased chance of receiving a master writ with trait knowledge and motif knowledge, the amount of vouchers you get for that writ is pure RNG. Someone with no traits and no motifs could get one writ worth 300 vouchers, while in the same time you might have 12 completely maxed toons that get 15 writs for 5-7 vouchers each. You've put more time, effort and gold into maxing your toons out, but RNG can still favor someone with no knowledge whatsoever. Gotta love RNG!

So I should put my efforts into finishing the motifs that are almost done, even if it means spending hours perusing guild traders?
For the record, the toon with only the blue motif and common purple (Daedric etc) hasn't had anything more than a 5 voucher MW. And as for ZoS saying they were increasing the rate of Provisioning MW with the last patch, I got only my second one last night.

I'm finding the best way to get master writs is just pure bulk. Get as many toons as you can maxed on as many crafts as you can and do the writs with them every day, even if they have minimal traits and motifs learned. You'll be better off with 12 toons with virtually no knowledge than you are with 1 - 3 toons with max knowledge.

As for motifs, there is no better time than now to pick up missing chapters. Stores are flooding with them for rock bottom prices. If you use MM you can set a search for unknown motifs and just hit stores fast. Pick up anything you need for a reasonable price.

Increase in provisioning master writs? I call BS on ZOS saying they improved it. It doesn't bother me much though. You either get a 2 voucher provisioning writ or a 10 voucher writ that isn't worth doing due to the mat cost involved (2 perfect roe)

I get so so so many alchemy and enchanting writs.... I have over 30 stored in guild bank atm.

Rarely get Bs, cloth and wood writs, occasionally get provisioning (but they're poo anyway).

I must have displeased RNGesus....seeing as I've received exactly one master writ...worth a whopping 7 vouchers.

Methinks I must now sacrifice on the altar of RNGesus's polar opposite....whomever that may be.

ZOS came into one of the threads with some minor clarifications. This was one of the things mentioned. I don't have the link but it was in one of the threads asking about how master writ drop chances work.

Pretty sure it happened a week or so before the event started.

I was getting at least one master writ a day then it suddenly just stopped. Completely.

Should point out I do writs on over 4 characters lol

ZoS actually did answer some similar questions when master writs came out; this was officially confirmed. Also, only purple and gold recipes and motifs count, not blue, and not motifs that were exclusive to the crown store.

I thought it was just "the more motifs you know" (as in total), rather than complete.
And I also thought that gold/purple event and DLC recipes didn't count either.

First, traits researched play a role as well and do not know how that is weighted compared to motifs.

Second, It may be knowing a chapter of a style does not make a difference. It could be that knowing every chapter for a style is all that counts. I do not know how that works but it would make sense either way.

RNGsus. I went from getting at least 1 a day for a week straight (12 dailies across my levelled up characters) to not getting a single one for 12 whole days. So you have good days/weeks and bad ones.
