latest nividia driver prob's?

unjulationb16_ESO
hi

just wondered if anyone else was haveing any probs with the latest Nvidia drivers ? since I installed them through experience last night/early hours of this morning, every time I try to play eso it has a random flicker to black every .5 to 2 sec's

the monitor that im useing works fine for everything else, no fliker in desktop, files, etc - haven't tried other games/programs yet so don't know if its all game/program-wide or just eso as of yet

monitor refresh rate is 6ohrz (thats the only pos seting for this monitor)

are there any setings i can tweek in eso ? i couldnt see anything about screen refresh reates in the settings in gam, but could be wrong its very anoying flash to have on i have to keep the game closed

anyway if its not my monitor but is the drivers is there an easy way of rolling back the drivers in nividia experiance ? i used to know what i was doing when you uninstaled, instaled, and set up your own drivers, anyway im sounding like an old cogger, so aye how to roll back the drivers if i have to

or is anyone have the same probs with eso that isent runing nivida drivers?

thanks in advance

unj

to add - it seems to be a refresh rate prob? or would that be less random in the flickering

and its unfortantly unplayable atm, which is a bit of a bummer, but hay-*** not getting mad but if anyone could give me a few pointers as what I can be tweaking that would be top (reasonably pc savvy)

edited to add - im geting the same problem with fallout 4 but not far cry 4 - im presumeing that eso and fallout4 have the same/similer root graphics engin well thats narrowed it down a little bit

oh and sorry the driver number is - 381.65

I had considered getting the new driver just yesterday (and would have if Experience hadn't said it couldn't connect to the site--lol--happy fail), and am glad for the warning. Also glad rolling back the driver solved your issue!

What monitor are you using and what GPU? There is a known issue with some laptops with the newest driver according to Nvidia's forum.

I never update graphics or sound drivers unless there's a very good reason to do so. As long as everything is running smoothly I follow the maxim "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I'm guessing my Nvidia drivers are a couple of years old and ESO has always run flawlessly.

For an older GPU and an older game like ESO that makes sense. But newer drivers can make a big difference for newer games. Also depending on your version of Windows and update settings your driver may have been updated by Windows update.

its a desktop - with a aoc cheapo 1080p monitor and 3 graphics cards - not in SLI - the main gaming one is a gf760

its defiantly the newest Nvidia drivers that caused the issue hence the fix when I went back to the previous drivers and all is well :)

Don't worry, I'm in complete control of Windows Updates. I'm running Windows 7 and have no wish to upgrade to Windows 10. As for the rest, I agree about new games and cards, hence my qualification "unless there's a very good reason to do so".

One thing people often overlook when routinely changing drivers - especially beta graphics ones - is that new drivers can play merry hell with the temperature.

Then again, I don't over-clock either. However, my local repair shop is extremely grateful to those who do, as fixing burnt out components especially motherboards accounts for a sizable share of their business  !

    ^^^

aye, normally I'm very tight with what updates and what doesn't, etc, and like you I'm staying with win7 until I have to move because there's a game/program I want/need and its win10 only, win 7 for the win ;)

but I got lazy with Nvidia and let experience dictate when to download/install its drivers, that'll learn me ;)
