Is there a bug or something going on with respec?

I did my first respec of skills last week to free up some points for crafting. I bought back all the attack skills I use as staples, and the same morphs. But somehow my damage went down -- I'm on PS4 but had turned on the outgoing damage counter and it was very noticeable. I'm talking to someone on reddit currently that is saying that the same thing happened to them. One of my guildies was talking about this in chat about a week before I decided to respec so I wasn't paying close attention at the time and wish I had in retrospect.

Is this a bug or something? I know that some of the bow skills were swapped around on a recent update, and I had to relevel one of them before I could morph it again. Is there another explanation for this that I don't know, being a noob at MMOs?

It's possible you forgot to repurchase your armor or racial passives. Off hand, medium armor alone can add 12% to your weapon damage.

All armor and racial passives are maxed, and I'm in all medium armor, so that's not it.

Make sure you filled in guild skills and passives as well. Fighers guild and undaunted and Mages are all important.

Are your skills now fully ranked up?

You may have forgotten a class passive like Expert Mage. It's a bit hard to know what that could be without more info, but, still.

I'm a stamblade. I didn't use most of the non-class passives to begin with. The only skills I didn't replace were ones I put points in to level but didn't use, I re-bought all the passives I had before. All skills are fully ranked up, that's what I spent the week before respect doing. I'm at a real loss here. It's weird. For example, if I'd use snipe from stealth and got a crit previously I'd do around 197K on that first hit and it wouldn't go above 172K after the respec.

IDK maybe I did something wrong but I wrote down all the passives I had before I bought the respec and repurchased them all so I have no idea what's going on. This is why I haven't even tried any undaunted dailies and avoid group content. I just don't have any idea what I'm doing and things like this show it.

You're missing some passives somewhere, or you laid your bar out in a slightly different manner.

Check all the lines (including the odd ones - like the bonus time from provisioning, etc) and see what you're missing.

Did you reallocate CP's at the same time and not revert them? (Treasure hunter passive or the one that gives bonus crafting inspiration?)

No, I didn't respec CP at all.

Thanks everyone for answering. I guess it's not a bug, it must be some kind of operator malfunction. I was so careful when I did the respec though, I don't know what I missed or overlooked.

This might be an issue with your active abilities. I mean, if you bought all the same skills exactly as before, there wouldn't have been much point to respeccing. I'm not sure what happened, but something you did altered how your passives function. For instance, if you switched off of using Assassination active abilities, that would reduce your crit chance.

I needed the points back that I'd spent leveling skills I don't (currently) use to put into crafting, there were a lot of points that were spent that were essentially unused that I needed for other things. Like I said, I bought back everything I used before and even linked them to the same controller button so I don't know what the hell is going on.

TL;DR: I think I suck at this game.
