The Long Patriarch Beard in the Crown Store question

So i was told you couldnt dye this beard off the crown store but then i have seen a couple people with a gray version of this. Can you dye it if you are a ESO Plus subscriber like you can costumes or did there use to be a version of this beard in gray? Thanks
