AMD - virtual super resolution not working

As the title suggests, after waiting for months to get the flickering grass issue fixed I we now have a new problem with super resolution (downscaling??).

I have been using VSR at 1440p which renders at that resolution then scales back to 1080p significantly improving the jaggies/picture the ESO AA doesn't fix.

Since installing 17.4.1 which finally fixed the grass flickering, VSR now does not seem to work for ESO although it still does for other games such as SWTOR.

Any help sorting this out would be great......otherwise I guess I'll be rolling back to 17.1.2 again.......

Hello, just updated to 17.4.4 and still have the same issue/unable to use AMD's VSR to rescale down from 1440p to 1080p to improve AA.

Cant go back to earlier driver anymore because I need the latest for other games ME Andromeda and Battlefield 1.

Any help from anyone or acknowledgement from ZOS would be appreciated.

Even if somebody could help me force extra AA through my graphics card (rx470) which doesn't seem to work on this game either (even when I had an NVIDIA card I couldn't force AA without NVIDIA Inspector).

    Help help help

Try going back to 17.4.3 you may be OK it works for ME Andromeda and it worked for the flicker issue. 14.4.4 is an optional update meaning beta and 14.4.3 is an actual non beta release. I would try that one.

if you just want it for the AA, dont use VSR use Reshade.me with the uber fidelity preset file,

    1. yes zos are fine with reshade being used on eso
    2. its easy to setup, download the installer, run it, direct it to your eso64.exe file, select dx10+ have it grab all the shaders...then download the presets and drop them in the same folder as the eso/eso64 exe files.

    hit shiF
Shift+f2 to get to reshades menu, enable and tweak reshade.

use SMAA not FXAA thats the default on most presets, unlike fxaa, smaa dosnt blur the whole image...

there are alot of other presets i use this one as starting point then disable and enable a few things :)

makes the game look like a totally new game.....amazing....same with gw2...

@ashenb14_ESO - this was a great fix...thanks so much mate

I followed your instructions and without getting the pre-sets and just enabled SMAA........looks almost as good as VSR did and probs costs less performance.

    You legend!

FYI to anyone who wants to know 17.4.3 and 17.4.4 dont allow the use of AMDs VSR.

grab a preset there are a ton, they game looks SOOOO much better when its not washed out and blurry ;) and yes lessperf hit then rendering the game at a higher res and downsampling ;)

enjoy, and yes these presets work with reshade, reshade is just the replacement for SweetFX rebranding if you will ;)
