Anniversary event - now this is what an event should be, Good job!

No repeatable quests that become boring after doing them a few times - just one quest that takes reasonable amount of time to do (perhaps a bit too short in this case).
No farming limited time items like you were trying to get a sharpened Maelstorm Inferno Staff, instead the speciall items (cake) are given after completing all the quests,
Event bonus: Nice sutff and double xp for doing stuff you usually do, but no "limited time" items that would force you to farm the event stuff more than you'd like to.
Very good, these are the kind of events I want to see more (perhaps a bit more questing and story) in the future.

Would be even better if I wasn't getting provisioning items from turning in the Woodworking quest (though it still grants the woodworking coffer once the outer container is opened) and woodworking items from the provisioning one.

(And no, I didn't open in wrong order - Provo was the last one I had to turn in and had already opened the rest.)
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Clearly the anniversary box is unrelated to the type of quest you completed. Why should it be related? You can get some valuable motifs from turning in a minimum level provisioning writ.

Ugh. One of my characters got an Alchemy writ they are too low level to complete. Didn't think that was possible. Anyway, get 4 at a time with alt.

    Agree completely.

And that is even with full knowledge that my gold income from selling motifs is going to go way way down after this.

    Well done, ZOS.

at the towns yes like Bruma with the two quest givers there and through out the area

This 100%. This event doesn't have a dramatic change on my activity in-game (i do a few more writs and am more likely to do undaunted dailies, that's it), but it enhances my normal play.

    I like that.

Jester's/New Life/Witches(to a lesser extent) changed my play dramatically as the time-limited items required, as you mention, a pretty monotonous grind--but then, those were "festival" events, and this is an anniversary event, so I guess that makes sense.

    I also LOVE this event!

It doesn't make me feel like I'm forced to do dailies, since there are no event exclusive items.. but there are rewards for doing stuff I would normally do anyways :) Bravo Zos.

The rewards are pretty fantastic. The only way this could be improved is if more PvE content and PvP were included in the event. There could be gift coupons, for example, that drop from any monster with a 2.5% chance and with a 100% chance from any boss (3 minutes delay until another one can drop from a boss when you've gotten one from a boss) and 5 coupons could be added as an additional reward in any "Rewards for the worthy" mail. Players could then trade in 20 coupons for another gift container (like the ones you get from daily quests). That way people who just like to grind, do PvP, or group content in PvE could benefit even more from the event.

Sorry folks I have to disagree. This event is a joke. I have opened 10 boxes and all I have received is crafting mats no rare or unique items. All ZOS has done is have you do content that already exists. They are so lazy they could not even furnish some new content to complete for the anniversary event. The Jester Event was was even worse and totally pathetic. Three quests done over and over again. But to all of you who like this anniversary event have a good time.

I have got 2 dwarven motifs, 1 Covenant motif, 1 thieves guild motif, 3 blue furnishing design and some crafting mats.

This is much better than the last few down to the fact I don't need tomd the same quests over and over but my favourite of them all has to be the Halloween one since it was rewarded me through dungeon completions etc although the volume of motifs/recipes was a bit exessive to the point where I'm still selling some of that loot today.

Happened to me with enchanting. I aborted the quest, got another skillpoint that I then spent on alchemy and then I got a writ one level higher again...

    I tend to agree.

The 100% buff is nice, since I still need quite a lot of CP and bring 1-2 alts to 50 and had not that much time during the last event.

The rewards though... I opened like 30 boxes and did not get a single interesting thing. 90% standard crafting materials and 10% purple provisioing stuff...
