You can be sureVivec isn't really a bad guy, unless you consider that he, Almalexia and Sotha Sil all conspired together to kill Nerevar but that was so long ago so who can be sure?
I killed Vivec in Morrowind, also all that MK post-employment stuff is non-canon.Erm... Some lore? Anyone?
First of all, Vivec achieved CHIM. He is literally as closed to a god as someone can be, starting from mortal. You can't kill him. Even if you "kill" him in Morrowind, he is still alive in Skyrim. NPCs talk about him abandoning Morrowind and that noone saw him since. But he is definitely alive. Even Nerevarin can't kill someone who achieved CHIM.
Secondly, Vivec is the most calm and level-headed character... Probably in all universe, honestlyHe has no quarrel with you. He has absolutely no reason to attack you and one honestly must work hella hard to become his enemy.
As for you... Well. You can have quarrel with him, if you wish. Quarrel with a true living god, good luck with thatBut Vestige is no match for Vivec. This "battle" won't even take a second lore-wise

Take first letters from paragraphs of his Cantats. Or wait...
Here you go: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_36_Lessons_of_VivecHe was not born a god. His destiny did not lead him to this crime. He chose this path of his own free will. He stole the godhood and murdered the Hortator. Vivec wrote this.
He admits it pretty much.
