Since it's been well established that MORROWIND is a new chapter and not a dlc. Only makes me wonder if they will release extra dlc content to add on to MORROWIND just as they have with the base game. Not just dungeons, trials and arenas but maybe more guilds? Idk if anyone has seen anything on this or not but I'm definitely curious givin the $60 price tag as well.

Its been said that future DLC will not require Morrowind.
If you have eso+ but not Morrowind you will still have access to future DLC.

It's an interesting concept though. I wouldn't mind some DLC that had both Tamriel Unlimited additions and Morrowind additions, as it would give more value to the Morrowind purchase (as long as the TU additions are not reduced from their current level because of it). Morrowind will eventually become dead content if nothing is ever added to it.

This will not occur because they will be releasing a new CHAPTER each year, and that would just make things confusing, and as they've already stated, future DLCs will not be reliant upon purchase of a Chapter. So this means that a DLC could still take place within Morrowind, but it would be a self-contained DLC. Right now ESO is comprised of numerous areas, but each area is instanced, the same will be true for future DLCs; they will not 'expand' Morrowind without requiring it to be a separate instance.

Ahh okay makes sense although it would be cool to see Morrowind specific expansions as it's a fairly large area with quite a bit of content but as long as they keep to their word and keep releasing new chapters each year we should be fine.

    That is a good point.

WoW suffered from this terribly, ZoS does have the opportunity to keep the world dynamic by offering specif expansion DLC as well and it would be another source of revenue for the game, that I think would add value for subscribers.

-that coul be true but for me to access battle grounds and the new class i have to get the morrowind expansion so i guess theres your value right there

Let's see how creative "the guys" can be in addressing these kinds of issues. ESO is still in it's infancy, the direction of the game could be determined by the actions they take now (early on).

The P2W crowd would have a field day with this, unfortunately.

Mh, the DLC's are all pretty much standalone from my perspective.
I'm sure the messengers will find you regardless of where you are, be it the "old" mainland or Morrowind.
Doesn't really matter where that part is on the map since we can't get there without a loading screen anyways, no?

Right. Let's take that angle right there. Battlegrounds are a Morrowind feature, so when they add new Battlegrounds, how will that work? If Battlegrounds are ever added to the base game, then Morrowind is diminished, as they would no longer be a selling point for Morrowind. So any additional BG content should require owning Morrowind. Would that mean new BGs are free to owners of Morrowind? As new maps, I would expect to have to pay for them, just like we're paying for new dungeon maps.

So as an example, maybe new Battlegrounds come with the new dungeons in Update 15; you wouldn't expect these new BGs to be available if you don't own Morrowind, since BGs are part of the expansion's content, so they wouldn't be part of the base game patch. And you wouldn't expect them to be free, since they are new content, so they must be part of paid DLC.

    No one knows....it's only speculation.

I'd not assume one way or another but take into consideration the support page info and article info on Morrowind and DLC as well as ESO Plus changes.

ZOS changes its monetary stuff every year so wait until you're better informed.

I think DLC's based on Morrowind is a good idea. Do you hve to buy Morrwind to hve access to the new dlc? I would like this to be so. Basically once Morrowind is out most dlc's should be about this new area.
