Lag is unreal in this update!

I'm getting really tired of this update. Every time I come on here, from the time I play this game, to the time that I stop playing for the day, I lag the entire day and I'm getting ready to put my head through my wall. When dueling, I freeze up for about 5 seconds and after I come out of it, I'm either dead, or low on health. I'm losing my mind and I know that PC players are experiencing this issue as well because the streamers that are playing this game are experiencing this same issue. This is my favorite game, have been playing for 2 years straight, and now I'm beginning to hate playing it. I knew the lag was going to be intense in this update.

I noticed game performance improves after junk cleanup or reinstalls, deleting zou.lu file, not a professional but seems like a lack of garbage collecting.

@Tasear Sadly. I don't play on PC so I am very limited to what I can do. But I will try deleting them game, and downloading it again even though it will take 8 hours because my upload speed is so slow.

Yes, yes.. worst when in the area that dueling are occurring, i.e. undaunted enclaves and area within the wayshrine in capital cities.

Empty your inventory srsly. My Alta who have like 13 items never get 'sticky animations' or pretty much any lag.

My main has 150/150 always and lagged hard until I dumped most of it.

This is weird, very weird, inventory should not have any impact on lag outside of an weir bugs.
Check if this can be replicated suspect just entering the bank solved it somehow.

I am a meta user. I run Wrobles Revnge on my stamdk, last night I was dueling one of my friends that had to start all over again because he got banned for scamming, he has like 160 cp but has gear. I almost lost because I froze up for about 5 seconds 2x in a row and I swear if I would have lost, there would be no more PS4. I'd have to buy another controller and I don't have the money right now. Truth is, I have a anger management issue, but this is something that is worth losing your mind over if you ask me.

I just want to play this game. It's a really fun game to play but it's so hard to enjoy when every time I enter combat I freeze up. I don't care about anything else that people complain about like heavy armor, proc sets, poisons, instant heals, etc. All I care about is just fixing the server performance. I don't understand why this is so difficult for ZOS to just do already.

This. The game was completely unplayable with ridiculously low frame rates and lag. I would even have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to exit the game because it would just lock up upon exiting.

Then, for whatever reason, the game cleared its cache. I had to re-approve the EULAs and redo some of my settings, but the game ran perfect afterwards.

I agree. I'm on PS4 and trials are unplayable atm. I'm a healer and have so many lags that I don't understand how my mates are still alive. Slow bars changing, you just hit your controler, nothing happens on the screen, 5 sec later your char is just crazy and he can do BoL 5 times (and you're not even touching the controler)... And you don't loose magicka. That is amazing xD

I'm fed up with this, TESO is the best MMO at the moment but if problems are not fixed "very" soon, i'll play another game. Sadly.

New trial is coming and we can hardly try on VMOL HM because of lags and bugs... How can we well prepare a team for the new one ?

Apparently performance was massively affected back in the day with the patch that put all the anti-bot measures in place.

And those measures don't seem to be working anymore, yet performance is still tanked.

Feng Rush explains it alot better in one of his YouTube videos.

I'm on PS4 EU and having the worst lag ever! The game is really unenjoyable.... I was thinking it was my internet provider?

Yes and No... If you don't have a good Internet Connection you're are more likely to undergo lags, freezes etc.

But a friend of mine has optical fiber and he has frozen in VDSA 2 days ago and has more and more lags as well...

Can anyone tell me if this is my Internet connection or if it is actually the game itself? I'm hearing half and half, but I don't know which one is right. If so, how can I fix it?

Lag is usually worse when there's a special event going on like right now, but the lags I was experiencing this morning looked to me like DDOS attacks bc ping kept suddenly jumping to 999+ for a minute or two at a time. Frustrating when you're in combat but I usually just stop and wait a few seconds and it clears up.

Thanks @LilySix, I've never had this issue before, but will check with my provider for sure.

Me too @ButcharPete.... until it's sorted I might have to... gulp.... get a life....

Just logged on and straight off.... not fun.
