Mazzatun Style with guild tabard doesn't look right

I just created an armor using Mazzatun style cuirass. I thogut it looked pretty cool (and sexy 
) but to my disappointment using guild tabard with it covers the cuirass with ugly brown shirt. Is this supposed to happen or is this a bug? Here is a picture: First, Mazzatun style cuirass as it is, then Mazzatun cuirass with tabard and lastly, tabard with no chest piece equipped.
I colored the armor brown to make it look better with the shirt, as that is how I am usually moving around, but I am really disappointed to the results.
