Token System: Undaunted Chests

After spending over 200+ keys on the same undaunted chest for a shoulder piece with a specific trait (but not weight), there is no care left to continue on with this abomination ZoS has given birth to, called "RNG".

Others might argue that there are some good pieces of other sets that were acquired, sure, there was, which means to make a new character for every inadvertently collected piece of armor right? How silly!

The proposal of this poll is to suggest adding a token that is obtained with every undaunted chest, after collecting let's say fifty tokens, they can be traded in for the shoulder piece of your choice.

Having said that, I acknowledge that this could lessen the incentive for player's to do dungeons.

    At around 220 you'll get it, that's about the number I got mine.
    However, now I got another 220 for what use? Need a new system where my keys got more use than getting a shoulder for decon. Like some unique legendary drops.

    But.. but... but... you can't keep people busy with grinding over and over same dungeons for a long time... You know...

    I was thinking about this token system but business policy with RNG keeps servers full.

    A token system should be entirely doable. ZOS should have internal numbers on how much people grind for these. They could balance the cost of specific set pieces somewhere in between.

    I think their reply might be "but the golden..." The golden can take an entire year to drop a specific piece...it's not good enough to keep players from reaching max frustration.

    One thing I always note in conversations about Undaunted shoulders is that the trait is very close to being meaningless. You're talking, in most cases, about something like 0.4% DPS difference between a Prosperous shoulder and a Divines shoulder.

    The proposed "token" systems are, IMO, more relevant to conversations about weapons (particularly of the Maelstrom variety) since the trait makes such a massive difference.

    What I'd like to see, rather than a token system in any form, is just a simple trait re-balance. I see no reason that we should live in this "Divines and Sharpened or bust" world. It's OK, IMO, that Divines and Sharpened are the best for DPS, but the difference should be much smaller than it is.

    Only if tokens are guaranteed for completing dungeon or in other way, not like: "last bosses have now 0000,1% chance to drop a token when killed". This game had already too much broken RNG.

    This Token could be a system that serves the whole game, not just Undaunted.

    How would that work?

    You go to the NPC who sells Tokens. There, you will find all pieces of Gear Token (armors, necklaces, rings, weapons etc). You can buy each piece for 100 gold, for example. These Tokens have two stats: type of gear (light, medium and heavy armor, flame, lightning, ice and restoration staff etc) and trait. From the moment you carry these Tokens, any future drop will have that type of gear and trait.

    For example. You bought the following Token: Waist (Light Armor + Divines trait). At this point, the token is replaced by the drop item.

    I went through so many damm KEYS to try to get med divines veli and med divines krag and after more then a month on trying to do daily on two characters I DIDN'T GET IT ...

    its always training light or some other crap .. i swear if i see one more training im going.... im going to...... AAAAaaaaaa

    for the love of RNG make it 50 keys you can buy a shoulder piece you need please hell make it a 100 keys i would be more happy with that then getting ... TRAINING!

    I'm not necessarily against a token system but what is badly needed even more than that is another trait pass. Fire the fool that did the last one as it was a joke, then get someone with some math skills to actually go over trait balance. Part of the RNG issue goes away once they take the trait balance seriously for once. After that is done, then we can work on a token system to fix the RNG madness that is plaguing this game.

    I Would Like A Token System
    I'm 0-32 at getting the piece I'm looking for, and I just want to complete the set - I don't care (much) about the trait or weight at this point. 12 different sets in the chest, and I have 11 of them... In one case, I have 6 of the same shoulder in 4 different traits. It's like ZOS knows what I want and just keeps dangling that carrot by not letting it drop.

    I even considered if it was even worth putting myself through the aggravation again. Can't even imagine having the patience to run 100 or 200 times like some have already commented.

    I would like something, I did 175 keys and did not get the shoulders I was looking for, I eventually did but 200+ keys to get 1 shoulders?
