How about duelling events?

Bored of new life and jester events, how about some duelling events.

Man vs women, female players are skilled too.
Faction champ.
Champ of the month.
Race champ.
Class champ.
No weapon champ.
Just some ideas, cos PVP is fun and entertaining to watch. Why not make it into an occasional or regular event? In a certain area or arena.

Why don't you put together a specialized dueling guild and hold a tournament? Nothing at all stopping you; you've got Hammerdeath Arena in Stormhaven, just set it up and advertise. I for one would turn up to spectate, possibly place a wager or two. Throw a few tomat- er, mudballs, at the loser.

Dueling in PvE land is a distraction and very annoying when every area there's always someone pinging you for a fight. Yes.. the auto-decline option. I would agree if dueling is done in a confined area or an arena and not everywhere and anywhere. The lags are bad at capital cities' wayshrine and undaunted enclaves. If you're that bored and already have all your character slots and toons are leveled up, then go into Cyrodiil, if you're so itching for fighting. Another thing is soloing world bosses or public dungeons' bosses with your lowbie non-cp toons. You shouldn't be too bored there. Ha ha.

Because that would mean claiming that 1v1 is balanced and everyone has a chance to win. But it's not and it would be a bad joke and a slap in the face to some builds or even classes.

While this could be interesting, I think it is something players and guilds could set up for themselves without needing ZOS to get involved.

I can see this as being a possibility in the future as there's an arena type place in stormhaven I think that was originally sealed off but got opened up a while back. Last time I was there to check it out there wasn't much to do beyond talking to npc's but you never know what the developers have in mind for the place. Hopefully an arena like that in reapers but for players.

If they either phase out or move dueling upon start out of the public areas, I'm all for those who like to duel to have events, heck even daily or weekly goals and stuff.

I personally would like dueling to prompt or start as it does today but in terms of where it happens, I'd much rather there be small arenas so to speak.

In all major cities where people gather, duelers tend to go at it.....it bothers me because on consoles, it causes a huge performance drop and on some days, duels tend to happen on top of NPCs or environment interaction points.

With this, I think when Morrowind arrives, the next dlc update should enhance dueling and move it out of cities, towns and public areas but not annex or detract from the enjoyment of those who like to duel for whatever reasons they have.

I always find it strange that those with that attitude are not the ones called "carebears". Basically you just want easy fights against unskilled and unwilling combatants, preferably ones with no champion points compared with your many hundreds, and who couldn't begin to compete with such a mighty hero as yourself. Yet they're the "carebears"? I never have understood that.

However, this thread is not about open world PvP. It's about dueling events, and provided that they were held in separate locations such as arenas then I'd have no problem with the idea. However, holding dueling events by the wayshrine in Vulkhel Guard, for example, wouldn't be the brightest idea anyone had ever had.

Not private event, cos it's all about official ESO fame and public acknowledgement of the skilled player.

It's a great idea, they can take the chance to introduce people to a proper dueling arena, so fewer people will duel near the wayshrine in Mournhold for example.

Good point, it sure will draw duelling enthusiasts off to the duelling castle.

I just set up events with the guild. Hell hammerdeath arena is perfect for dueling tournaments and such, but nobody goes there. Only dueling interest I see outside of guild stuff is kids spamming duel requests next to wayshrines.
