Hey guys, I am coming back to eso and decided to create a new toon to play with. I want something with heavy armour that can still leash out some damage, and I'd like a 2 handed sword as my main weapon. I'm kind of thinking of something like Retribution Paladin on WoW (Yeah I know.. WoW...)
Any suggestions?
I'd like to be some-what viable in pvp and in pve ^_^

    Templar or Dragon Knight

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

What about Builds? I am not too sure about magicka or stamina builds and which ones work well....

Thank you, sucks that there's not a magicka option (Battlemage haha). What would you suggest, a templar or Dragon knight? I am not sure which one to roll with haha

A pretty safe bet would be a stamina Templar. They're a bit more forgiving than a Dragon Knight in my opinion.
But that's just me. Doing a simple search for stamina templar on Youtube will yield pretty interesting results. Make sure you filter by upload date and get a build that is geared towards the Homestead update.

Thanks for this reply. Could you please tell me why it is more forgiving than a DK ?

If you have a "paladin" in your mind, I'd suggest stamina Templar, heavy armor, two handed sword, weapon skills for the killing, and some templar passives to support your survivability and skills for the healing... slow and steady approach, mixing in many heavy attacks for resource control, and trusting in your armor to see you through tough fights... second bar you could either have bow for some range, or sword & board for when you feel tanky...

Races that do well with such a set up would be Nords and Orcs for extra toughness, or Redguards and Imperials for extra fightyness, though Khajiit and Dunmer can also make it work.

If you are less into "Paladin" and more into "Chaos Warrior", you might want to take a look at Dragonknight... the class also does very well with heavy armor, passive-wise, has nifty selfheals, and some good stamina morphs for bring some hurt to your enemies...

Sorcerors do less well in stamina veriant, though could still make it work. Nightblades in heavy armor though better be magica saptanks, stamina NBs should stick to medium armor and ganking methinks...

First of all - thanks for the reply!
I was talking to someone in game just now, and got told about Stamina Sorcerers with heavy armour and 2 handers acting as DPS's. Do you think stamina templar is still a better choice PVE And PVP wise?

A heavy armor stamina sorceror as DPS will always be a little bit... lacking. Because Sorceror passives are more supportive to magica builds then stamina builds, and because stamina DPS need the resource-enhancement from medium armor to really bring enough, well, damage per second...

Oh, sure, you can make it work. But not as DPS, more like as mixed offtank/offDPS... it can get you through all the solo play, sure, but in the end, you will always be outclassed by the more effective combinations in PvP (unless you have some advantage in gear of course), and people looking for a stamina DPS will be more likely to looks elsewhere.

The best approach for heavy armor is indeed a two hander, but as mentioned, templars and dragonknights just get more stamina-playstyle supportive help from their class skill passives to help with that build.

I'm thinking the Orc's passives would be better suited for Stamplar.

The Argonian would do well as a Magplar healer, though.

I see. I just like the look of argonians haha  Orc seems like a cool race too so i'll go for that probably. Hows Stamplar for grinding levels? ^_^

It is true orcs make for good warriors, tough and hard hitting...

Argonian can still make it work, though they will always be a litte less "super-effective" in their damage output - they are tanky enough and the healing bonus will be nice for their survivability, meshes well with heavy armor... less effective then orcs, but still works nicely...

Stemplar for level grinding? Well, I would say levels are better done just playing through the story, you'll get all those quest skill points and skyshards, hit 50 near the end anyhow, and don't have to suffer through the mindnumbing boredom of grinding...
    ...
...but if you really want to... "Brawler" is something you will want to use a lot, AoE slash and damage shield? -Just- the thing to cut down massed mobs with. "Biting Jabs" used to be good for that too, but it was too good and got nerfed, so...
But the real problem heavy armor characters have with grinding is they cannot just burn down masses of mobs with AoE fireworks, because their resource regen isn't what medium armor stamina DPS characters enjoy. So its a bit slower going since they ought to add in more heavy attacks... but again two-handed comes to the win with the "forceful" spash damage.
So basically you will have to put a little more effort into grinding compared to a DPS character, but its a viable way.
I'd still suggest to just do the questing and have fun with that.

I am currently using 2h main bar with dark flare, reflective light, structured entropy, consecration, nova as Ulti. 1h and shield for all healing skills.

This girl is a magicka templar with 5 heavy 2 light, can tank damage or heal vet dungeons. Just don't go hardcore trials and you will be fine.

I am using 5pc transmutation 5 pc Alteration (jewelry) and a monster helmet of your liking. My fave are: troll king, grothgar, iceheart, valkyn skoria.
