Is there a secret to using this, or is it just glitched?

I'll never hit anyone with these no matter what I do so can't get the achievement.

Has anyone gotten anyone with them??

It shoots straight ahead of where you stand. If you're a bit off, you'll miss.

I find it easier to do in first person mode to ensure you are facing the person or persons.

Slot it in your quickslot by pressing Q while in your inventory. Use the memento or the consumables. Stand in front of them. Aim ( it shoots in a cone) and then press Q

The fastest way to get the achievement is to stand at a wayshrine in the spot where people port to (you'll see a bunch of people stacked on top of each other) and just aim there - you'll get multiple people with one branch.

Audirion wayshire is easiest.

or in trials while the group is waiting to entering

Yeah, your character must be facing them. You can't just pan the camera in third person, you have to move your character to face them. In first person, when you pan the camera, your character turns, but this does not happen in third person.

Also, you have to be close. Closer than what prompts the interact menu. Right in their face, is best.

Edit: And the downside for messing it up is being rewarded with a 20 second cool down.

One can say soooo many things about this whole concept of..ehem, festooning, as it were.

But wayshires, like RoyalPink06 said, is definitely easiest and fastest.

It should work on enemies too, boss is on execute and you tries to pop spell power, instead boss got an flower crown.

You can use the memento cherry blossom twig for this.

I'm sure there's an easier way to do it, but I just found groups of people congregated at the bank or crafting stations, turned my back to them, opened the collections menu to mementos and pressed E to activate the cherry blossoms. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it, but you never have to worry about running out of blossoms.

if you don't quickslot it, you can still use it, but then the animation will throw you off of where you thought you were aiming...before I realized that I could quickslot it, by noticing the animation factor, I would position the target between my character and the screen, then when using it from momentos, the animation turned my character toward me, and therefore toward my target, and that increased my accuracy...also aim just a touch high, the petals do drift down rather quickly

Yup, it's a lot better from mementos, I was trying with ones I got from the jester box, having infinite blossoms makes this much easier. The fact that they never seem to catch anyone matters much less, now.

I use the same idea but I like the vulkhel guard bank, it's so small that PC's are forced to be standing near each other, so easier to get multiple hits on each use

alternative is to quickslot it, as the cooldown is shorter...it's either 7 or 8 secs
