You finish a quest related to the main storyline and then you'd have to run the dailies hiests/assasinations in order to level the guild skill line up. As you level up more of the main story becomes available to you.
I hope Morrowind doesn't do that.

I forgot about that. VERY good point - that was a bit of an annoyance.

Of course it's a good point. I'm the one that brought it up!
I don't think so, however it would fit well with the original morrowind where you had to grind guild reputation to unlock skill levels and more quests.Publius_Scipio wrote: »The answers can only be subjective but the DLCs are pretty good. Thanks for answering all. I was tempted by the 5500 crowns actually since I can use paypal to get it on my Xbox One. A sub requires a credit card if I'm not mistaken and I don't have one I can use at the moment so that's not an option.
Some.I had the vanilla game on PC and Xbox One since launch. I've been away from the game for a while but want to get back in and I'm really interested in the upcoming
Morrowind add-on. I play pretty much only solo since I don't know anyone who plays the game and I was wondering if I should get the DLC I missed to get the complete experience. Are they worth it knowing I play alone?

Orsinium is nifty, and mostly soloable (even the public dungeons if you have some CP to back up your character) - except for the world bosses of course.
Thieves Guild is nice, if you like stealth play, though of course nightblades have a bit of an advantage there... but with patience and forethought, all can make it nicely (my second TG completion was on a templar... with no issues at all, you just need to pay more attention since you are a bit more limited for not having a handy invisibility to get you through tight spots)
Dark Brotherhood is much like TG, just with murdering people instead of stealing stuff. And a togher bossfight at the end. And more cameos of old friends.
Imperial City... that a solo player might want to think twice about spending money on. Since its -very- much gank-or-be-ganked PvP territory, and even the PvE parts have many hurdles you will find impossible to pass without friends to help you through this or that fight.
Shadows of the Hist... is just two dungeons, so unless you are into dungeon crawling with friends, its pretty much a waste.
Also, if you have been away for a while... you may not have done Craglorn, half of which is now rebalanced to soloable with OneTamriel!
So, there you are, more then enough nifty content for solo players to enjoy if you choose to!
