Are the DLC worth it?

I had the vanilla game on PC and Xbox One since launch. I've been away from the game for a while but want to get back in and I'm really interested in the upcoming
Morrowind add-on. I play pretty much only solo since I don't know anyone who plays the game and I was wondering if I should get the DLC I missed to get the complete experience. Are they worth it knowing I play alone?

    I think so, yes.

I really enjoyed the questing and stories in the Thieves Guild, Assassins, and Orsinium DLCs. Shadow of the hist is only worthwhile if you do group activities.

The extra skill points and a few useful passives are nice too.

I solo 99.9% of the time.

The answers can only be subjective but the DLCs are pretty good. Wrothgar is cool. Thieves guild and dark brotherhood are good too, but the way the story progressed based on the related guild skill line level kind of annoyed me.

You finish a quest related to the main storyline and then you'd have to run the dailies hiests/assasinations in order to level the guild skill line up. As you level up more of the main story becomes available to you.

I hope Morrowind doesn't do that.

Best bet is subscribe for one month and try them. If you like them then you can decide to keep subscribing or purchase them. I think subscribing when you compare to other forms if entertainment is a bargain. Basically if you play three or four hours a month it is cheaper per hour than going to see a movie.

Some are some aren't. Imperial City worth it. I have really enjoyed that dlc. Orsinium quest were really easy, it was worth it for the price I paid, 1 year anniversary price got it cause of arena. Thrives guild got it for trial. Haven't done much of anything in that dlc except trial. Didn't buy Dark brotherhood. not with it. Shadow of Hist good one just to dungeons. Fun and challenging at first. If you don't have any I would buy the bundle for 5500 crowns you'll save some but you will also have to purchase shadow of Hist for that's not included in the DLC bundle.

The only reason Theives Guild and Dark Brotherhood quest lines are like that is because they are guilds. The Mage Guild and Fighters guild quest lines are just like this. In order to do the rest of the quests you had to level up the skill line.

I wouldn't sub honestly. Unless you are a crafter. People say it's cheaper than buying the dlcs but not if you're subbed for a year lol. The thieves guild and darl brotherhood are pretty cool. I'm planning on buying orsinium next and did t get cyrodil or shadows because I don't care about pvp or dungeons.

I don't think so, however it would fit well with the original morrowind where you had to grind guild reputation to unlock skill levels and more quests.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I say sub up, and buy the dlc when they go on sale with the crowns you earn while subbing. That's what I've been doing. Waiting on the end of May for the DB dlc to go on sale. If only they'd offer that crafting bag up in the crown store, I'd throw my arm and leg at the screen for it.

Thanks for answering all. I was tempted by the 5500 crowns actually since I can use paypal to get it on my Xbox One. A sub requires a credit card if I'm not mistaken and I don't have one I can use at the moment so that's not an option.

If you sub for 6 months you get the crowns up front, subbing is a way better deal, the way I see it if you play other games and you cannot sub for a few months in the future for some reason then you can take a break and play your other games. But yes the dlc quests are a bit better then the default in most areas.

Can you not go to a general store and get a cheapo credit card? If you have steam you can buy a steam card at many stores.

I bought them all and have no regrets.

It is true that DB and TG should've been included in the game from the get go, but they weren't. Orsinium is great.

You're missing out if you don't get them, IMHO.

Subscribe one month. You can probably get through both Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood if you play just a couple hours most days. Dab your toes in the expansions.

Pay $15 for one month subscription and get all DLC available to you and 1500 crowns. Or pay $15 for and get only 1500 crowns that can maybe buy one of the DLC's.

Orsinium is awesome. Hands-down awesome. I highly recommend that one.

The Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood DLCs are worth doing for the passive skills you get. Their stories aren't as good as the story from Orsinium, but some of the passives from the skill trees are REALLY REALLY nice. There is a passive from the DB questline that reduces aggro by 50% when you're mounted, which is amazing. You can run right by an enemy on horse-back and he won't even see you unless you're right on top of him.

    Some.

Orsinium is nifty, and mostly soloable (even the public dungeons if you have some CP to back up your character) - except for the world bosses of course.

Thieves Guild is nice, if you like stealth play, though of course nightblades have a bit of an advantage there... but with patience and forethought, all can make it nicely (my second TG completion was on a templar... with no issues at all, you just need to pay more attention since you are a bit more limited for not having a handy invisibility to get you through tight spots)

Dark Brotherhood is much like TG, just with murdering people instead of stealing stuff. And a togher bossfight at the end. And more cameos of old friends.

Imperial City... that a solo player might want to think twice about spending money on. Since its -very- much gank-or-be-ganked PvP territory, and even the PvE parts have many hurdles you will find impossible to pass without friends to help you through this or that fight.

Shadows of the Hist... is just two dungeons, so unless you are into dungeon crawling with friends, its pretty much a waste.

Also, if you have been away for a while... you may not have done Craglorn, half of which is now rebalanced to soloable with OneTamriel!

So, there you are, more then enough nifty content for solo players to enjoy if you choose to! ;)

Orsinium is excellent. The others are entirely missable althought SotH has the best dungeon in the game; Cradle of Shadows.
Don't expect a lot out of Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood, they are pale imitations of the TES variants, but they do help while away a few hours apiece.

Don't bother getting ESO+, it's a complete con as ZOS have recently reclassified DLC vs Expansions, so we'll never see an Orsinium style DLC included in ESO+ again. ESO+ is basically 70ukp a year for DLC that costs far less in the Crown Store and is generally not compelling enough to subscribe to. What I have now done is cancel my own sub, and use discounted/sub earned Crowns to buy each DLC as it comes on discount. As others have said, at the anniversary of each DLC you get a discount.

So yes, the DLC is so-so. but it's really not worth paying over the odds to get in a hurry, just wait for sales or buy it all outright in the bundle. The special editions are just tat, so the basic items are the way to go.

Sub one month, play all DLC, my advice. After a month, if you have to have one or two, then buy them.

I paid $20 for game, bought crowns half off ($20) and purchased orsinium, TG, and DB DLC.]

So basically, for $40 I have pretty much all of the game that I want (don't PVP or care about hairstyles), and I have been playing for about 18 months, which would have been $290 if I subbed.

That is why I like this game, you have options. Another time in my life, I would have just subbed, but right now I kind of enjoy not paying for anything I really don't want, need, or care about.

    Just my quick advice.
