Instances for public dungeons

Public dungeons are a mess right now- the amount of players farming sets has totally ruined any type of gameplay experience for the new player. I ve been around- and walking into Malabar Tor today- it was a mess. Groups pulling groups and mowing them down- good for them- I do the same thing- they need to level and need to farm gear. but how is the new player supposed to enjoy that? I remember going into my first public dungeon in Stonefalls and it was me and 3 other new players- they were all gathered outside the chest- waiting for others to join them to go in- we grouped and it was awesome - we helped each other thru it and it was a mini- adventure quest in itself. It was social, challenging- and it was involved- we got to experience the story and the dungeon this way. Most of all it was fun.
Whats going on diminishes the gameplay for most players- and even the farmers- as theyre stepping on each others bosses and not getting the max out of farming sets when bosses are getting dropped before they can loot them. Why not make dungeons instanced like Skyreach or a maximum of 5 people to a public dungeon. If people WANT more in one- they have to group outside and go in together. I think this would improve gameplay for all involved.

    Buff public dungeon bosses. 10x health required and make them hit like 30% harder.

    The vast majority of them don't even touch the bosses (addmitedly some are farming spinners gear, but its a minority that are), they just farm the trash for rapid xp gain, particularly at Crimson Cove to which the op is referring to i presume, and this particular dungeon is almost on a par with Skyreach for xp gain and low levels don't need a partner. So upping a public dungeon bosses health to +2m is pretty irrelevant and just penalises the solo quester.

    Maybe a solo instance for dungeons for those who want to run it for story line. No loot or xp. Few mobs.

    Buff them all then. All this rapid xp gain is what is making dungeon finder such a chore. Players aren't learning to fight anything properly at all now. Just run and spin to win. They go into even normal wgt and get mowed down by one skeleton lol. And then comes the boss fights and they just plain suck. If they started to bottleneck scrubs into harder content then it'll help to some extent.

    But going from fighting stuff with next to 0 resistance and 30k health to a few hundred K with 18k res and semi hard hitting moves cones as bit of a shock to them. They just think having the gear gives them all the idea.

    Giving stupidly easy grinds and monster xp boosts is one of the worst ideas in the game in terms of sustainability. Yesterday my tank in woeler build had more dps than the other 3 combined lol. It was *** horrific.

    Agree with the sentiment but ZOS would never do that because of the amount of players who're just playing the game for the storyline and rp and whatnot, and want to "play how they want", even if it's hardcasting frags in between light bow attacks. They're also valid paying customers though, a VAST number of them, and that has to be considered. Main issue isn't them being able to light attack their way through all the quests and whatnot though, that's fine because you can absolutely play how you want, even if it's rp-ing a naked fistfighting nord, long as it doesn't bother other players.

    Main issue starts when they queue for group content and, like you said, SUDDENLY...there needs to be a learning curve and tbh public dungeons wouldn't be a bad place to start because currently there's nothing at all.

    They're called INSTANCED DUNGEONS, they already exist, the Public Dungeons don't need fiddling with.

    Nope, don't see an issue. The other players will not prevent one from completing the quests there, or taking part in killing the bosses there.

    Pretty easy get skyshards at the moment everyone one is grinding kills, walk in, get shard, kill bosses, walk out. thank you
