Definitely needs changes. Really tired of these guys, not to mention how much they are sitting in chat now selling materials. Yesterday I got spammed while in my bank up in craglorn. This dude was a low level that I never even requested to buy anything from. He just kept hitting trade request on me. I was fuming! Lol
They should all be given a permanent incurable disease that makes them die every 30 secs, and the disease should be bound to the account, spreading all their toons.
"'You have suffered for me to win this throne, and I see how you hate jungle. Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you.'" The Many Headed Talos - Michael Kirkbride
Botters need to be banned (carefully) because they clog up the server and take resources that real players should only have access to. I seriously doubt Zenimax and Bethesda developed this game with the vision of bot swarms plaguing the zones, dolmens and public dungeons to the point where people don't even want to be there. Particularly with the server lag issues we've been exeriencing post-one tamriel, we just don't have room for botters in this game.
But botters are only part of the problem. They're like low-level thugs: you can take one or two out, but they're easily replaced. The real problem are the sites they use to do business.
There are websites up right now that sell VMA weapons and power-leveling. They sell Dromathra Destroyer, Emperor, Grand Overlord and Flawless Conquerer titles. And they sell other rare items like Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia recipes through guild banks (which makes sense because ZOS claims pretty much no responsibility over guild banks).
I'm not as worried about the lazy people that buy these short-cuts, or even the ones that sell them. Karma has a way of catching up with you. But owners and operators of sites that harbor these transactions need to absolutely get their pants sued off. They don't just violate Zenimax or the game - they spit on every player that has played by the rules and spent countless hours to get these achievements and items.
We need to know what ZOS is doing about this. I remember botting was a problem before, and then they were removed from the game. Well, now they are back. I know you guys aren't security, but until we have a security POC you're the best people we have to look to for help.
I also don't think a message from the game director to players concerning this would be out of the question, especially considering the major update that's about to come out.
If they are boting and there is proof of this and they are reported for it account removal it is harsh but it is the only way to deter others and repeat offenders on it to a point. I found one in stros Makai all the time signs in bots and that is it. Reported that player 15 times and I saw him do it for 15 days now and yet is still doing it.
Joined a dolmen group today... just so you know majority of them are not bots. The work better than some pvp players... yet they are pvp. The move as one unit to achieve one goal save material and gain xp.
