Inspect Option

Not sure where to post this at. Does anyone else agree that there should be an inspect option to check out someone's gear? Best part about raiding is being able to show off all your hard work. On console you can only link 1 item at a time in chat. Also I am only cp198 , I get kicked from groups but if they saw my gear maybe they wouldn't loll.

But maybe there should be a way for console players to link more than one item at a time?

Show it if you want it, but otherwise, it's nobody's business.

Yeah there should be, but players in this game are exceptionally sensitive to this kind of thing.

This has been brought up before, although it's been a while.

I think there is an addon that already does this, but I do not know the name.

No it shouldn't be an option at all

The game would better address ambiguous things like our CP indicator and use character levels instead beyond 50 if the idea is to better understand how effective someone is. With roles, their stats or gear cause cause a green, red and/or blue brackets around their level to suggest magic, stam and or health stat points
An icon of healer, dps and tank could appear based on skills on their bar for role clarity


I think there are much cleaner and simple possibilities vs inspect which is dangerous as ppl swap in and out of things so the server would have to pull and refer data constantly which seems to be under too much stress already due to CP calculations.

No there should not be a inspect other players option. And you can link more than one item at a time you need a keyboard to do so.

which is exactly why there shouldn't be. People are already getting kicked for not being the min/max race/class combinations. Image what it will become if they haven't been able to grind vMA for that perfect rolled Sharpened weapon yet. Essentially no group would ever be formed outside of people you already know because everybody would find something wrong with at least one person's gear.

There is, in a way.

On XB, if you have a keyboard plugged in, type in your price then hit B, go into inventory and link that item.
Then, on the keyboard hit the up arrow, repeat previous step. Result in a line with 2 items.

If you're in a group where the other person is logged out, the /g channel is a perfect place to construct a multi item WTS/WTT line.

I just thought of something else, use a dummy line like a whisper that goes nowhere, like /whisper a (blah). Maybe worth some testing...

I can't say it was a waisted feature but it's another extremely poor implementation and use of the UI

I'm a firm believer that gear doesn't make the player. If your getting kicked from groups there may be a reason.

However, I think gear inspection is beneficial.

One can see what is being worn by a strong player.
It's helpful in assisting weaker players since sometimes the chosen gear is really really bad. Have seen dps wear tanking gear.

If you're getting kicked from groups (for reasons that aren't legitimate) then they're not the kind of players you want to complete a dungeon with anyway.

No, would not want that.

I would be worried if that was brought into the game that it would have people become gear snobs and boot you from groups if you are not wearing the gear for the build of the week or month.

Just a suggestion. Im on console and you have to remember we have none of the addons so alot of the game is dull around the edges. I always liked showing off gear and checking what other people of the same class are wearing. I look like the snob *** when I post 15 items rapid fire

Because ass can mean the animal or the part of anatomy where as adding a hat to it is only an insult.

And, personally, I think it should be a ToS bannable offense to kick someone for gear unless they show up naked and start begging for food and potions.

i like to wear a lot of the disguises from the different quests...

was doing undaunted dailies and my own buddy started in on me cuz my character didn't look "tough" enough for the dungeon...

he was serious...tried explaining it's only a disguise/costume (was wearing the DC version of the servant's outfit) and simply got - "yeah, but you still look weak"...

yep, there it is...

I hide my third partly software in an inventory slot. inspect all you like all you will see is potentially broken set items
