Battleground Builds

So I don't PvP at all. But I will definitely be interested in battlegrounds. Will builds and gear sets be similar to current PvP builds? Or do you think it will be a whole new gameplay system requiring much different tactics? Any tips for a pve guy to survive in battlegrounds would much appreciated

Go into pvp now and practice. There is no build that will make up for lack of experience.

Build for burst on your front bar and survival/get away on you back bar.
And be prepared to die horribly many many times

Learning your class in PvP takes a lot of time. Gear, stats, CP, build, skills, AALLL that jazz won't help you be effective in PvP the way good old experience will (real experience, not those numbers that pop up after you do..... Uh, anything!).

The best way I would suggest to prepare right now is dueling. You will learn your class more, and also how to deal with other classes etc. Do it with some pals you can talk to and give each other pointers.

Imo, more than likely, they will be no CP.

Meaning regen is pretty strong, destro ult and resource poisons will be strong.

Personally I'm going to try a combat medic sorc. Going to abuse Resto Ult, Troll King, etc.

I'm using Transmutation, Troll King and Seducer - really high sustain and survivability. And buffs all members in the small group

Step 2: Find 3 More Magplars
Step 3: Lob Breath of Life at each other
Step 4: Profit

I'm pondering something very similar. Transmutation, Wyrd Tree, Troll King.

@Jitterbug I have Wyrd, thanks for reminding me of it. Great poison counter and works very well in that set up.

That warden set up + troll king resto ult + some damage dealers = there will be hate.

cyrodiil large scale fights are primarily ranged combat affairs...

I have a feeling battlegrounds will be more in line with imperial city combat - up close and personal with lot's of melee fighting...

I can also see a bit of an emphasis for focusing builds similiar to undaunted content wherein it's important to build for group play...

whatever your group "role" is - it'll be important to be able to fulfill that role...

Group composition and teamwork is going to matter more than anything in BGs. Good teams with dedicated roles will dominate.
