Dim lighting in housing?

Does anyone else feel they need an abundance of light sources in their homes? It seems that each individual light has such a small glow, leaving many dark areas not covered in between each light. For reference, my home is Mathiisen Manor and I have close to 100 light furnishings, mainly Breton sconces
