I just burned 100 ruby ingot's that I just bought in a pinch to finish my BS daily because your game keeps having seizures and putting itself in a grave.

Weapons Armor Randomly switch to CP160 upon selection/scrolling through them. I change them back to 150 and it does it again. This needs a fix asap.

Mine always works the opposite, if I want to craft cp160 it reverts back to cp150.

Granted, the UI should not be switching between CP150 and CP160 amounts randomly, if such is actually the case. But it doesn't surprise me if the UI changes the level from CP160 to CP150 after you craft a weapon or piece of armor and select another one, although it might remain at CP160 when the number of ingots is the same required to make the next item.

The initial default for Rubedite gear is the number of ingots required to craft at CP150. You must change it to CP160 -- if that is the level which you want -- before you craft a weapon or piece of armor. When you select another weapon or piece of armor, the number of ingots can remain the same as those required for that item at level CP160, so the UI should not change the level. However, if memory serves, the number reverts to the ingots required for CP150 instead if the number needed for CP160 is different (maybe you're better off, keep reading  ).

Note that the same number of ingots is not required for every weapon, or for every armor piece, crafted at the same Level. While you craft lower-level gear, the number of ingots that you set for the Level of an item does not change when you shift to another item. Instead of changing the number of ingots to maintain the same Level, the Level of the item changes to match the number of ingots that you most recently set.

So it is easy, for example, to craft a Cuirass which requires the most ingots for the Level you choose, then overlook changing the number of ingots when you select the next item, such as the Sabatons. If you don't change the number, they will be made for a higher Level than the Cuirass. (Of course, if the number of ingots needed for an item of the same Level remain the same as those required for the previous item at that Level which your PC crafted, then nothing changes, or needs to change.)

Frankly, we would avoid mistakes like that if, instead of keeping the same number of ingots when we select another weapon or piece, the UI would reset to the number of ingots required to craft that piece at the lowest level with the corresponding material. Then we would have to specify the level for each respective weapon or piece before we craft it, unless we want to craft it at the lowest level for that material. Ordinarily, we want to craft all weapons and armor pieces at the same level, but "ordinarily" is not always.

That said, personally, I haven't crafted any CP160 armor or weapons for several weeks, so I don't know how the UI behaves now. It does behave as described above while I craft lower-level gear for a couple of PCs which I am leveling. Blacksmithing Master Writs accept CP150 weapons or armor pieces, so I have not had to change the number of ingots, just select the item to craft.

Working as intended - ZOS wants you to be on your toes with respect to crafting (in other words, looking to screw you). Yeah, select CP160 gear and then change the traits - hah! Back to 150! Click to turn in your writ - no, you just stole that cup and got a bounty! Just crafted that brand new shiny gold set of TBS? Ooops - the damn thing defaulted to non-set gear at the set crafting station (ok - they fixed that one after enough complaints)! :D
