Tips for NB PVP

Hi all,

I am looking for some tips to help me with PVP, more specifically duelling, but any tips are appreciated.

I use a CP355 Khajiit stamblade with all 64 attribute points into stamina.

Currently using 5 pieces of Night Mothers Embrace and 4 pieces of Night Mothers Gaze, with 3 pieces of Agility jewellery. All stamina enchants except the chest, with health. One weapon damage enchant and two stam recovery enchants on jewellery. No enchants on weapons yet. Traits are 3 divines, 3 impen, 1 well fitted and three sharpened weapons. Shadow Mundas stone.

The skills I use are as follows:

Dual wield-
Mass Hysteria
Surprise Attack
Shadowy Disguise
Killers Blade
Ambush
Incapacitating Strike

Bow-
Relentless Focus
Draining Shot
Resolving Vigor
Venom Arrow or Rearming Trap
Siphoning Attacks
Ballista

Pretty standard cp allocation. Points are spread between warlord, moon calf, tumbling, hardy, elemental version of hardy (can't remember name), mighty, thaumaturge and precise strikes.

First of all, I really struggle to burst down shield stacking sorcs or Templars with awesome heals. I'm not sure if it's L2P or my gear. I'm obviously pretty squishy but I'm not bad at roll dodging most times. That does make me run out of stam pretty fast though.

Not for duelling but for open world pvp; know your terrain. Know where you want to fight and where/when/how. Nightblades have to control the speed of the fight to excel, DKs can chill and stand there. Same thing with sorc and templars, you gotta be moving all the time and know when to cloak (extend not being CC'd ) and when you go in go hard. Nightblades passives reward you for being offensive not so much defensive. Sometimes you will have to over extend and you will be vulnerable so watch out (especially against those nasty magdk dots +skoria). Also are you getting major brutality from pots? You need that buff when going DW. Try going for all impen; if you can keep hasty retreat passive up at all times when that dodgeroll immunity is over and you wont get an increased penalty cost. Honestly, templars should never be a problem for you. You have major defile and high damage, control your fights through CC and know when to apply certain debuffs. You have two CC's as well, personally I love my fear since forever but in a duelling situation more healing is better without rally(drain shot). If you do end up taking something off the bar put blood craze for a tiny bit more healing and added pressure, mainly in duelling environment though. Also, grind cp to 500 if you can. No one wants to play with an excuse, you want a somewhat even playing field.....tremor/viper procs.

Also; use spriggans instead of Nmg for pvp. The 5 piece wont proc on shields and even when it does proc traditionally it only truly benefits other players in a PVE situation. Spriggans is better for penetration pvp wise(Even pve wise when clearing a vet dungeon or solo content; not trials though). Maybe try 5 spriggans 5 hundings(2 swords on Dw bar; dont need maces when you have spriggans) and 2p skoria for max health and an undodgeable meteor or veli or mazzatun/trollking/selenes. Maybe a mixture of 1p kena 1pveli for straight damage. Those 2p undaunted will serve as the edge bonus in my eyes. Sprigg/hundings plus food is enough damage on a NB as it, so maybe be more tanky with Bs/trollking or get lacking resources with eng guardian? Figure it out! Good luck playa.

You can just drop the thought of ganking heavy armor dk's and templar.. They wont die if you dont have BiS and are 500+ cp and you will probably die yourself.

About shield stacking sorc you can just wait for the shields to be down and then try to gank them.

I am a magplar heavy armor dude and only gets killed by gankblades who really know their game. Especially after proc sets doesnt crit.

Thanks for the advise mate, sounds like I really have to grind out those CP points before I will become useful at all.

Well it has alot to say.

Im only 450cp, but still a notable difference from those 600cp..

But in the end it all comes down to how well you know your character and rotation, so it doesnt hurt to practice stuff meanwhile ;)

There is a lot more to PVP than winning fights and skirmishes.

If grinding sounds terrible to you,you can work on your PVP marco play, playing the map getting into the right place, finding a good non nerging guild/group and go around taking resources and keeps.

You get good at that you can be really useful to the team without directly killing people.

    Awesome advice guys!

I will definitely try out spriggans and hundings together, with some undaunted armour too, though I really hate the look of most of them. I think engine guardian looks good though, so might try that one.

I will admit that I don't use potions all that often, but I will start popping some weapon power pots before engaging and see how I go.
