Level 45 _ Level 50.. But.. Only 3?

So I just refined 820 Rubedite Ore.
and only received THREE tempering alloy.

Thought I would get more out of 820 ore.

I'm only level 45 overall.
But have Level 50 Blacksmithing
10/10 in Metalworking
3/3 in Metal extraction

Am I doing something wrong?

The assumed average is about 1 Alloy per 20 refinements so the average for 820 ore would be 4 Alloy. You were slightly below average this time. Nothing out of the realm of possibility here.

Its usually a pretty *** chance, doing daily writs almost always awards some gold mats.

Op you pretty much on target. 1 gold temp per 20 refines is pretty much the standard. 820 or is way to low to see any pattern. If you keep track further you will see the actual percentage.

I think gold alloy returns from ore have been nerfed, either since 1T or since Homestead.

On a good refining day I average 1 per 100, if I refine about 150 and get none, or reach about 250-300 and have only received 1, I stop refining and try again another day. I have learned not to try and outplay the gods of RNG - they will always win.
