Do you play in First Person or Third Person?

Oh well... Lo and behold, the weird one

I have major problems with 3rd person in ESO. Maybe it's a camera thing or my brain's thing, I don't know... I mean, I've played Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Tyranny, etc and all was well, no issues. But ESO? I'm missing targets by miles.

I'm currently practising. But it's really hard for me. 3rd person is better because of awareness, of course. But I lose ~2k dps. In 1st person I have some success with weaving, in 3rd... Things just become hard. I mess up my rotation, constantly miss... And yes, I use targetlock, of course. Still hard.

So if I know the boss and I know that there are no sudden aoes behind my back, I switch to 1st person. And I keep practising.

First person, because I can't stand the camera angle on 3rd person on console. Not surprising to see 3rd person taking the poll. Most are probably PC, and I'm sure PvP requires it to see the entire battlefield.

BUT, yesterday I was standing around the wayshrine in coldharbour and I happened to zoom to 1st person. And I do understand people who like it for the immersion. It made me just stay there for a while checking out all the people running around doin their business, because all of a sudden I saw all the characters up close, and it dawned on me how cool this game look when you just... you know, look at things.

Was pretty sweet, even though I'm not really a RP guy, to just check out peoples armour, faces, and costumes and personalitys. It all felt pretty alive.

So I might be more like 95/5 from now on.

3rd mode gives too much advantage, it impossible to negate it. Tho 1st grant fun experience, like vMSA. When Morrowind drop - will definetly play entire PvE content in 1st mode and imagine that it is still TES 3.

I mostly use 3rd person, but definitely do some questing in first person.

Dungeons etc. definitely 3rd person.

When I do thieve and assasin daily quest will always go to first person

@Bouldercleave There is an addon called "immersive horse riding" You can be in first person while on any mount.

Played first person when I started the game but mostly third person for combat. I still go first person inside buildings, delves and taking screenshots

I play third mostly in combat so I can see all around me and maneuver better. But I play in first when using a bow. And I like exploring in third too. So I'm mostly in third with a mix of first when using sneak and bows.

I'd love to play first-person, it's how I do TES games and others, but ESO's field of view in first-person is pretty bad when it comets to seeing AoE markers, etc. that I find it simply impossible to use at times.

Yeah, I can, but find it really awkward, especially when trying to open chests and craft. When my kid wants me to play I usually pop a compazine beforehand. Luckily he's moved on to other games for the most part.

a gaming machine is much more cost-efficient then a console ever will be.
console 500-600$ (even more at release) then you have to buy new games for 70-80$ EVERYTIME

i can build a gaming machine for that much money, that can play ALL games at 60 fps.
and if something is lacking, you can justchange the component, console can't.


so in the long run, console are much, much more expensive.

Not for me they aren't. I have three people who game in the family. I'm on a fixed income. Gaming PCs cost a lot more than consoles do. Console is more efficient money wise for my home. Plus I don't have to constantly update drivers and deal with all that other crap. $500 total for three gamers to play for years with the cost of games (which we usually buy when they've been out for a while and aren't $70) vs. minimum $700 each for a gaming PC that will need hardware upgrades for video cards regularly at a minimum? Not even a close call for me. I used to be a PC gamer and much prefer the ease of access and less-screwing-around with consoles.

I like playing first person a lot. I just think its a better experience.
Sometimes the game dictate that its better for third person, like better awareness for standing in red, playing PVP or being more aware of some status effects. At these times I switch to 3rd person.

When there's both competition and third person view in a video game, you have to go in third person view otherwise you're at a disadvantage. Consequently, I'm always in third person view for VMA, PvP, etc. That being said, I prefer first person view when I play video games 'cuz it's more immersive for me(even more now thanks to VR), you really feel like you're the character.

Omg, how can you guys play in First Person?! Whenever I'm tanking and the game forces me into First Person, I begin to freak out lol. It's like everything is soooo close and I can't be completely aware of my surroundings. Third Person all the waaaayyyy.

I use 3rd person mainly. But when I'm indoors, looting, or talking to an NPC I use first person. (how many stolen items have you accidently acquired when going to interact with an npc lol?)

There are always comments like this one whenever someone asks first person or third person. I can get some in real life so maybe that's why I don't get it.
