VMA Stam NB DW vs 2H

After the dw weapon damage nerf, dw and 2h now have equal weapon damage.
Besides the obvious 2 set piece bonus, what advantage does dw have over 2h assuming that surprise attack is the main spammable attack?
Is it the dw dot and ultimate? I see most vma builds run dw/bow while using potions for majory brutality.
Does the added damage from the dots make vma easier than having the burst heal of rally?

Round 9 crematorial guards.
I've flawlessed on magicka nb, templar and sorc because of shields and heal on damage abilities. Having to cast a separate heal and just using blood craze as a weak hot is not enough for me.
