Rage Tells: Do you send/receive them?

Just wondering what the community experience on this has been.

I've occasionally gotten annoyed when someone teabags after a particularly brutal fight or in instances where I don't feel it's warranted and sent them some smart ass comment. I don't often get them though unless it's someone mistakenly accusing me of being a part of a zerg and I'm only with a small group that kills them. I suppose I appear offline fairly often so perhaps that's why I don't receive em.

What have you guys received/sent ? Any particularly funny/embarrassing ones? Let's try and keep naming/shaming and nasty comments out of it to avoid the wrath of the moderators.

I was on my Templar tank and just killed abou 10 people with my group of three. Someone I see here on the forums was the last one left. I hit him with my weak Jesus beam for like 4K total. I bag him lol. He sends me a message says I was trash and it took three people to move his health. Two of us were tanks lol. So he marched a 30+ man group to the resource we were at. After a few minutes of me pulling that group around a tower and eventually dying I messaged him back and wondered why he needed 30 to move mine. No response lol.

Never sent one. Have received an innumerable amount over the last several years though, lol.

I actually go offline mode now most of the time just so I don't have to come up with as many comebacks. It takes too much effort and I know ragers rage the hardest against those they can not rage at, lol.

edit: Although I have reciprocated teabags on occasion, but I never start it!

I never send them, if I am that angry I hide it from the source and normally take a break to walk about the house, have a drink of water, as shower or something to cool off before I do something stupid.

As for getting them I have had a few but have never been good enough or known enough to get them in PvP, most the smack I had was from my own faction/guild members about drama.

Also I never reply to smack, it's much more fun to see the tells keep coming and getting progressively more incoherent as the rage builds.

Just ignore them, going offline just because you're good is no fun and makes no sense :P

I've never sent any rage tells, but I've recieved them. Most are pretty boring, just accusing me of cheating because I didn't die when they wanted me to. The worst rage tells I ever got was when playing on a nightblade named Anuriel the Exile. I guess since I had Exile in my name, they thought I was a member of the guild exile. I'd get weird hate mails about how Abraxxus and exile were cheaters, and I'm a hacker etc... It was strange. It wasn't even from EP and AD all the time. There were a few DC players sending hate. I never fully appreciated how much exile triggered people until then.

I've never sent one, not even on the rare occasion that I've gotten them. One that I got that I found pretty amusing was when I was once challenged to a duel just after dueling was introduced from a player with 350+ CPs, I accepted. I then dropped him in less than 10 seconds on my level less than 15 (only one bar). He then called me a scrub and told me I wouldn't have beat him if I wasn't on a magDK. He was a stam sorc. I had a good laugh.

One time I thought I was getting some with a strong "lol..."

15 minutes of talking later and I'm helping a fledgling nightblade ganker figure out how to deal with big mean ol' templars in the imperial city :p

I miss the good old days of dark souls on X360, something like one in five invasions ended in a voice/text message amounting to "reeeeeee"

I could care less why someone tbags. From starting out playing Halo, it is just what people do. If anything you sending them tell such as lol or get gud only makes them do it more.

I was fighting 3 people in Cyrodiil and winning. A zerg of close to 20 mows me over. The 3 people I was fighting begins tbagging. It is obvious they did not kill me.

Sending them any message though will only result in more tags. They do it in hopes to get a reaction.

I remember in Halo we use to do it to make them lose focus. Some people when tbagged will stop at nothing to avenge their honor. So they spend the rest of the game trying to kill the person that tbagged them, getting killed repeatedly in the process.

Now this doesn't really work in eso as there is so many people everywhere. Now in battlegrounds I am sure tbagging will see a large increase.

I'm a pro at getting t-bagged and hate tells :)

The quickest way to get a hate tell is to zerg over one person and then t-bag them. You should get a whisper fairly quick unless you have a special character in your name.

I don't send hate tells, but I like to respond to them. It can be very entertaining.

Funny story one AD was coming through our gate to get a skyshard, I killed him ( with the help of the guards ) went over and then squatted on his dead body. Oh was he mad, I can hear the raging as he kept messaging me. It got to a point where he threatened to come to DC and prove something to me. Well he came over and we are friends now :)

Best rage I've ever seen, had to be back when eso was newer to Xbox. I was pvping with a small group. We saw a large group of maybe 3 guilds doing a 1v1 tournament.
We were just a bit bored with ganking between sieges. So we spent an hour or so messing with the tournament, ie ganking winners, healing who was about to lose, etc.

We received countless hate mail in game and on Xbox live. It was kind of funny watching the escalation of anger.
  • thebattlesaintb14_ESO
I do get them occasionally. But as a Stamblade that's gonna gonna happen when I attack 1vX. First dudes getting the gankhammer. And we all know Ganks bring out hate faster than anything in this game.

First time I went for Emperor on my main, the main goal that I looked to hit ever since release and a troubling path. The person is second place was the leader of a guild called Aldmeri Nations, a trading guild I believe. He was running with his own zerg and buying off people on the campaign while I was solo and he still couldn't pass me. Once I finally got Emperor he would personally insult me and tell everyone that I was the reason they weren't getting any gold. lol? After I got Emp he payed some DC group with a top player on PS4 NA to dethrone me, which they did. At the last keep where I first went they beat me and teabagged me after lol... Anyways, some good players saw what he did and pushed for Emp and he never got it I believe. Shameful display really!

Also this DC dude I met at bruma as emp(didn't kill him) was farming AP and working his butt off for emp where DC in chillrend was non existent and he still got #1. I didn't think he had a chance to get emp but after all that happened he ended up getting it (he was like 300cp) so I guess it all worked out Fly!

Receive rage tells like it's a full time job. My favorite is when they rage tell me while they're still dead. I'll go out of my way to find their body and teabag them in such case.

I've put a few out here and there. Most recently I raged against an ally.

I believe it was something like: "Why didn't you help? I saw you over there hiding. Now I'm dead. >:-( "

The best one in recent memory was when I'd been hanging around a keep we lost on the walls just picking off tower guards. I had a lowbie alt out and this guy would have stomped me if he'd seen me coming, but who expects to get attacked while patrolling the walls of their own keep? LOL

He ripped into me for taking a cheap shot. I laughed and fired back that it was my only chance. This acknowledged my cheapshot and also paid due respects that a fair fight would have gone differently. But then I snuck off before he could inflict a well deserved revenge.

I know I don't send them. I'd most likely never know if I ever got them as I rarely pay attention to the chat window outside of solo PvE, farming, vendoring and other mundane crap which I doubt would ever call for any rage. If I am doing anything half way serious, I probably am taking getting communications through voice.

Back when tel var was much more valuable, I'd hunt people on my Magplar. It'd get me plenty of hate messages. I have a bunch of em saved somewhere, but smart glass only goes back so far.

I always try to have fun with it when I respond.

If I get to the point where I'm even considering sending one, I know it's time for a break. It's a game and has no real bearing in my life outside, so if I'm that frustrated it's time to do something else. If I get them, I tend to ignore them or what I've found is really enjoyable lately is random thoughts thrown out there.

    As an example after getting a rage/hate;
Have you tried the chili at Wendy's before? Man, it is sooooo good and for only about one dollar (US) it's a great value. Listen if you haven't tried it yet, you have GOT to do yourself a favor and give it a try.

I have never sent a hate tell but I have replied to them and depending on the tone of the tell will reflect the tone of my reply, I mostly reply back because I know they are mad already and I like to antagonize at that point, and they fall into my trap almost every time.. insert evil laugh :)

I have never sent a negative tell to anyone, well, that's not entirely true. I have unloaded on a few node/chest poachers. But they deserved it...really! :*

I have gotten a few negative ones. It's always someone in Cyrodiil pissed that I killed them. They just need to get over it and get better. B)

I get a few a week, usually the tryhards (and a majority have been from EP) that think they are better than they are and run in small groups/zergs, Xv1 you, and then say you suck or you're the one zerging. The best is when you teabag them after they've teabagged you tons of times and then they get immediately salty and start sending the hate.

And almost always, they are offline so you can't reply back. If not, I dispute all their fallacies and they 100% put me on ignore and crawl back under the salt rock they emerged from.

I've only got a few and I've been playing since Beta. Then again, I don't PvP a ton, and I never t-bag. The ones I did get were amusing, although that was probably not their intention. My favorite was a guy who kept screaming in Zone Chat that I was cheating because I had a 700 CP character in the Wailing Prison. They kept calling me name after name. After about 3 other people in zone chat pointed out that it's perfectly easy to do if you never leave the Wailing Prison, they finally shut up.
