Yeah, some people dont get it. What I really wish is that we would have a dungeon tracker under our achievement sections. That way people could actually link their number of runs. Every RNG rage thread seems to start with an outlandish claim about the number of clears of some piece of content. I have done VMA 500 times, etc. I am sure people have, but people dont understand that it weakens their argument signifcantly when it appears that they are lying through their teeth.

You arent farming normal solo as fast as he is claiming, and I cant imagine anyone being nice enough to help farm DC1 that many times for a trash set, let alone 3 people.

Wow you must be very weak at this game to think nobody can run darkshade 1 300 times in a week on normal. Its not even a accomplishment to do it 300 times in a week on normal why would i wanna record it?


Oh and i guarantee im not the only one in here who can do darkshade 1 300 times in a week.

And when i said 30 times in a few hours im not 100% sure exactly how long and how many runs. Its a estimate so sure i can be off. Could have been 5 hours or 6 hours not sure.

In 4 back to back runs I got the same exact set piece from the same exact boss. vWGT, Plannar Inhibitor, Imperium Cuirass, Divines. But I still don't have the impenetrable SPC gloves.

If you want to get into a pissing contest of difficult PVE accomplishments with me in this game, I assure you that you will lose, but yeah, I am obviously just a stupid Pug. Gun to your head, I am sure you could run this place 300 times in a week. I just dont for one second believe that you did. Doing it with groupfinder as you suggested, makes it far more improbable. I queue as a tank all the time. The finder typicaly goes quick, but the runs frankly do not.

Also, as you still fail to grasp the concept of unique item drops, I am questioning whether your basic counting skills might be impaired as well.

After all this, I am still trying to figure out why anyone would farm this particular staff.

But ya believe me 300 times is not hard in 5-7 days on normal if ur DETERMINED to get a staff like i was. I total give up.

I was gonna make a pet build with netches touch and overwhelming set but i needed the flame staff or lightening staff it was either farm tempest island for a flame staff or farm dark shade 1

So i farmed darkshade 1 atleast 300 times in 7 days to be exact.

When people come to the forums to complain about the RNG system for loot, I can't help but think about the folks that used to talk about the xbox 360... do a 360 degree turn and walk away...

Look... it's been beaten into the ground already. The devs are fully aware that they need to implement a token system.

The RNG system is simply a carry over from the days when there was a lack of content. Now that there is gobs of content to play trough, and more on the way, I think it is safe to say that a RNG loot system replacement will invariably work its way in.

Sounds like there's a thought process of looking at gambling with a deck of cards versus a slot machine or Roulette.

With a deck of cards, you only have so many cards, so if you're playing blackjack and don't reshuffle every time, the odds that you'll get certain cards that haven't come up yet, increases as the playing deck gets smaller. So, if you haven't seen an Ace and there are 10 cards left, 40% of those cards are Aces, which means you have a much better chance to get an Ace from those last 10 cards. If there are 4 cards left and still no Aces, you have a 200% chance that you'll get one Ace in your hand because you get 2 cards of the remaining 4 cards.

With Roulette, once you roll the ball any one of those numbers can come up and there is a 1:38 chance of a number coming up. (0, 00, and #'s 1-36) When you place a bet on the next spin, you once again have a 1:38 chance of a number coming up. Why? Because it is irrelevant what happened the last time. The dealer doesn't block certain number slots when they are hit with a ball. The spin and choices are all a possibility once again. So, the chances of getting 00 from 1 Roulette spin is 1:38. If you spin the wheel 100 times, your chance every single time is 1:38 to get 00. While highly mathematically improbable, it is possible for the ball to drop in 00 100 times in a row. It is also just as possible for the ball to skip the 00 every one of those 100 times. 100 spins in 1 day you might have 00 come up 38 times. The next day it might come up 20 times. The next day it might come up 74 times. No matter what you "think" or "expect" to happen while at the Roulette table, just because it hasn't hit 00 in the last 10 turns doesn't mean it will drop in 00 on the 11th, or 12th, or 13th, or 14th, or even 99th time. (I tried playing Roulette once, pretty dumb. Everyone drops chips on half the damn numbers, or more, anyway on every single spin. Might as well just put money on every single number, color, etc., which some people do. Waste of time.)

So, with a Random Number Generator, don't think about that deck of cards where your odds increase because as the deck gets smaller, your odds of getting certain cards increase. Think about the Roulette wheel wherein, 100 times you could get a drop on 00, or 100 times you could get no drop in 00. Either is "improbable" but still possible.

So getting 8 special staves sounds like a pretty cool thing, worth a lot on the guild store. Even if you play 100 more times, you have the same chance of getting that one staff you want whether you play 1 time, or even 1000 times through that dungeon.

The RNG Loot Tables are different for every weapon type and trait, which is why its always likely you will get the same staff with the same trait, because the odds are higher that that staff and trait will drop than that staff with a different trait.

Someone a while back built an excel spreadsheet of the loot tables and drop rates for weapons and traits based on Undaunted Chests. He used his own data plus that of people who posted videos on youtube opening 100 plus keys per clip to generate his results.

If someone remembers where to find it, it should be reposted here.

Your chances for a weapon with a good trait is over 1/1000 due to the many combinations of Style, Trait, Weapon, Armor, Jewelry in game. All those factor in. There is literally millions of combinations.

You dont seem to understand that there are unique items that you will always get from each dungeon. Sharp Axe of Sheer Venom is one. Charge Inferno of Netch is another. They have nothing to do with your RNG from the final boss.

The problem, is that you fail to comprehend what a unique drop is, and furthermore, you make ridiculous claims about the number of times your ran something. Sorry, but nobody believes you ran this place 300 times in a week.

Post a video of you running this dungeon "30 times in a few hours" and I will eat my words.

While you are at it, how about some screen shots of the staffs in question that you keep getting.

Yeah, some people dont get it. What I really wish is that we would have a dungeon tracker under our achievement sections. That way people could actually link their number of runs. Every RNG rage thread seems to start with an outlandish claim about the number of clears of some piece of content. I have done VMA 500 times, etc. I am sure people have, but people dont understand that it weakens their argument signifcantly when it appears that they are lying through their teeth.

Obviously i know there is some sort of rng in this game.

My main point is i don't believe all items come in sharpened in this game. And not internationally.

Until i see someone prove they have it im believing what i believe .

Gun to your head, I am sure you could run this place 300 times in a week. I just dont for one second believe that you did. Doing it with groupfinder as you suggested, makes it far more improbable. I queue as a tank all the time. The finder typicaly goes quick, but the runs frankly do not.

Also, as you still fail to grasp the concept of unique item drops, I am questioning whether your basic counting skills might be impaired as well.

After all this, I am still trying to figure out why anyone would farm this particular staff.

A while back I was farming for two sharpened elegant sword while at work... Took three weeks. Both of them dropped on a Friday at roughly 4:10 pm PST.
Coincidence? Their RNG is based on calling numbers from the date/time?

Vma RNG exposed. just got 3 restro staffs in a row. 2 powered and 1 precise. going for my 4th. Also 2 sharpened light staffs in two day? wtf is this? I've had many more multiples in the last 3 days...

Weapons (outside of named items) only drop on the last boss, or in chests. Let's look at bosses first:

4 x 1h weapons
3 x 2h weapons
Bow
Shield
4 x staves
Ring
Amulet

That's 15 items for 3 sets, making a total of 45 different set items that can drop from the final boss. When you add in traits, that's 330 unique items that can drop, not counting named items (which probably have a higher drop chance, lowering our chance of everything else even further). If there are no named items, you have a 1 and 330 chance to get any one of those items.

The RNG isn't rigged. Any difficulties you have are due to the massive loot table on the final boss of a group dungeon.

Lets give math about how unlikely 300 runs are. Lets assume you are doing normal in 10min not hard.
300 runs*10min=3000min
3000/60= 50 hours
50/7 = 7.14 hours/day

So if you were able to complete these in 10min, unlikely in a pug. And, queue constantly. You would've run 7h 8min a day to accomplish that. This doesn't include vender and repair times either.
So saying you did 300 runs in a week, is gross exaggeration.

lets say you can queue a group in 5 min, now you are looking at
7.14*1.5(cause not between runs is 15 including queue)=10.755h/day of playing.

And soooooo many weapons that I get in sharp, are all in an awkward set. While trying to farm automaton I remember getting 2 sharp staves of automaton and a sharp netch bow. Rng isn't just "bad" it's FIXED. This same rng follows me and just about everyone. Even guild chat is constantly filled with linked sharp weapons of the opposite set, while the correct weapon with the correct set is just about always anything but sharp.

Because both of those are uniquely named set items and have a better weight in the loot table.
