Best high dps set?

I have a stamsorc that I need to slap some gear on, and since I have never outfitted a stamina character before I have no clue as to what set is "the best".

I wrote "the best" this way because I know a lot of people will tell me that "there are different sets for different circumstances". I don't need different sets tho, I would rather have 1 and only 1 set to run, because I am stubborn like that.

So, what is the best set to use as a base to build on to get the highest possible damage output?

if you mean for main set then I think hunding from just those 3 sets because in good group you will have enough penetration on boss to have also no penetration in cp you you have minimum 1 piece of kragh, VO is not bad but it is more as 2nd additional set to dps.

atleast you can use also two fanged snake, people are crazy about this now as I hear

EDIT: at all I prefer hunding as main set you you dont care about everything on max for scores, hunding is enogh, have flat good bonus to overall dps+ what is the best can be crafted in any style what you want and then combined with 2nd set and you if you are good pleyer its enough to do everything in game, trust me

I would go with vicious serpent. The reason for this is because you´ll be able to sustain better than the other sets. Better sustain = better dps.

Edit: And for stamsorc (and all other stamclasses) vicious serpent/vicious ophidian is a really good alround set that works in all situations

Twice-Fanged Snake provides the best DPS due to the nerfs to Crit Damage that came with Homestead. The extra penetration puts it on top in most situations now.

but if your raid manages it to reliable (by a good coverage) decrease physical resists of a boss far enough (Pierce Armor, Crushing, Alkosh, another Stamina DD with Night Mother, Kragh 1-set-bonus, sharpened weapons) maybe Hunding is the better choice.

In addition I would never ever pass on the three set Bonus of VO/Alkosh (often worn as jewelry).

5 piece tfs + 3 piece vo/alkosh + 2 piece velidreth+ vma weapons(axe-dagger/dagger-dagger+bow).
This is the current bis for stam.

Twice-Fanged serpent is the best which you can use with VO if you have sustain issues. If you have maelstrom weapons you can leave out monster helm sets and go 5/5 and none are as strong as magicka monster sets like Grothdarr which you must leave on.

I heard other people saying that you can have better DPS with "Clever Alchemist"... but it is pretty expensive, because you need to drink potion in order to have + 653 Weapon / Spell Damage for 15 seconds.

So for having a "constant" DPS bonus - Hundings Rage could be probably better.
Also - we need to separate it to PvE / PvP

For PvE - Hundings Rage
For PvP - Spriggan's thorns + 2x sharpened mace

Two-Fanged Snake (which happens to be a slightly better version of Spriggan)

(2 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina
(4 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical
(5 items) When you deal damage, your Physical Penetration is increased by 1000 for 3 seconds, stacking up to 5 times.

I craft this set often for my customers, and I too wondered to them how they were able to afford the pots necessary. Many of them chug the random dropped potions in order to proc this set and save the crafted ones for special occasions. Like lap dances in the champagne room I suppose.

From what I've tested Twice-Fanged Serpent seems to be pretty solid and is what I run. It does 5k penetration, so 1k more than Spriggan. It's the best set I've been able to find for stamina dk as well. Since it's unlikely that you'll be a in a group with all penetration debuffs (at least most of the time) it's always best to go for as much penetration as possible, and in those situations where you do reach the cap for penetration you can always swap a weapon from sharpened to precise.

Clever Alchemist has an uptime of 15 seconds and a downtime of 30 seconds, so it's only possible to have 33% uptime on it. If you take the spell damage value and multiply it with 0.33 you get 215 weapon / spell damage consistently, meaning even Hunding's Rage outdoes it if you are going for dps in fights lasting more than 15 seconds. Clever Alchemist is awesome for burst dps though and lends itself really well for short PvP fights, especially if you are a ganker.

It depends. What's your max hp/max stam/wd/crit%/crit dmg modifier/phyiscal pen?

What set you wear will balance these out. Eithe4 way you will want vicious ophidian/alkosh in there.

You have to have some context. If nothing else, you need to distinguish between Group and Solo play. For example, Spriggans is amazing in Solo play, but in group play it is typically overkill on penetration.

The current meta to maximize damage seems to be Twice Fanged from SO, 3 VO or Alkosh Jewlery (the 3 piece is the same), A monster set, and VMA weapons.

My Stam Sorc wears Nightmothers 99% of the time. It is almost as good as spriggans solo, but actually has group benefit in 4-man and trials settings. The one draw back is that only one person at a time can wear it. Since stamina is rare in trials these days, its not that much of an issue.

What I pair it with depends on content. In trials, I pair it with Krags, VMA weapons and VO jewelry. For just about everything else, I pair it with Velidreth, and 5 VO. VMA weapons only really shine on long fights.

As for 3pc VO vs 5pc VO....with 3pc VO you can use monster helm, but with as much penetration as 5pc TFS gives, you often don't need Kraghs pen boost. I currently have 5pc VO on, but then again I haven't touched my stam sorc this patch.

Doesn't charged work from backbar? I.E. mainhand vma axe and have ~18% bleed chance? That should be similar to tfs but allow for the 20% crit modifier of tbs.

I find i get better results from TBS than i do hundings on my stamblade. I use spriggans dagger/sword and jewelry tho, I use 1 shoulder of velidreth for extra weapon power and a salenes headpiece for stamina increase. My dps on the target skeleton is 21774.4 with this set and 19889.3 with hundings, quite a difference.

Been told velidreth x2 tfs x5 vo x3 and vma weapons is new stam meta. Although it seems like a very unbalances build

I'd personally drop veli for kraghs and not focus on pen, but either crit/increased crit dmg.

I. E. Precise vma weapons or leviathan. With puncture from tank you'd be running at 17.5k phys pen so if anyone is running nmg/alkosh you're wasting armour slots on it.

But, I heard you would need infused, instead of sharpened, for Twice-fanged to be effective. I haven't tested the difference, though.
