Recently i thought about this, and i think it would be worth to give it a shot in the next PTS.
To do this we would need 2 handed weapons to grant 2 bonuses, otherwise the gap between sword and board, dw and 2 handed weapons would further increase, since you would lose 2 set pieces instead of 1.
Second: logically it makes sense, i mean, when you swap bar it's not like your weapon vanishes from existence, this could also be implemented with a cool visual effect, meaning that you could see both your weapons at the same time on your character.
Third: this would solve the problem with gear setup when you use double desto, two handed, bow etc... and monster set.
Fourth: this is just a test, if it works put it in the game, if it doesn't because it's op (which it probably would be) leave it out of the game, but it's still worth a shot, sometimes risks reward, and since this would be done on the PTS, the risk is minimal.
Fifth: this would lead to problems with maelstrom and master weapons, since you would literally lose 2 set pieces by using them, making those weapons almost worthless, but i have a solution.
Simply give crafters the ability to Convert a non set weapon/armor to the desired set item, while leaving intact all of it's previous attributes, at the cost of gold/crafting mats etc....
Lastly, i don't think that this would make the grind even worse.
Give it a thought, comments are appreciated.
And anyway i was just thinking that it's been years, eso should really take some chances sometimes, it's not like the end of the world if we try something like this on the pts, give feedback, if it's good keep it, if it's awful remove it.
