The cooking Ingredient 'fish'

Hello,

I have a quick question about the cooking Ingredient 'fish' I've noticed its required for the crafting daily writ, however I've not found much of it around in the world. The wiki says it can be acquired from Grocers and Barrels, Baskets, Crates, Cupboards etc and can be made out of non-trophy fish.

My questions are:

Can this Ingredient be purchased from a merchant? Can it be discovered while fishing?

While fishing you get many different fishes that you can fillet for the ingredient "fish".

It can be looted from crates/barrels around the world, as with other provisioning ingredients. But, best bet to just get fish is to fish.

From what I remember, after you're done fishing, you click on the fish in your inventory and right-click and select "use" and it makes it available as an ingredient. I might be remembering wrong, though.

Once you have caught a fish, you can 'use' it (or fillet it as we say) to see if you get a 'perfect roe' and the by-product of this is fish, used for provisioning.

I have several thousand as a result of my endless search for perfect roe and angling achievements, pity you are on PC or I could have sent you some.

You can also venture into Fungal Grotto, the Dreughs have them when you loot their corpses.

Since posting, I've managed to find fish and have quite a few stocked up now.
