Elder Scrolls Online Launcher Crashing on Steam/Client

Alrighty folks, if any of you guys are still having this issue, I have finally found a fix. After going through countless forums and guides on fixing the issue of the launcher continuing to crash over and over, I found a forum which worked for me. I have redownloaded the game from the steam client several times to no avail. This forum here worked for me though:

Looking into my steamapps>Zenimax Online folder showed I had no launcher folder, so Steam was unable to launch ESO since it kept trying to find the launcher (launchers always cause issues in MMOs on steam). Follow that post above and try redownloading the ESO launcher/installer. You need to make sure to change the install directory to your Zenimax Online folder located in the steamapps folder, or you will have two ESO installs. This was my location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online
Then continue the install process and it should autodetect your files and game client.

This does not end here (it might for you, but for me it did not, I know, this stinks….). Once this was done, yes, I was able to run the game, but…. I had another issue. I could not log into the game and link my Steam account to unlock the DLC and special items with my current ESO account. I found this forum post which helped resolve the issue/error of "Unable to initialize the connection with Steam. Make sure you launch the game through Steam".

Near the bottom of this posting, Daymusik posted this:

After reading through this thread, I've noticed a trend occurring -- words coinciding: "Steam" and "Administrator".
I was just about to try doing everything I could to get this game working, but after reading this thread to the end, I tried doing one thing: I right-clicked my Steam icon on my desktop, went to Properties, under the Compatibility tab set it to Run as administrator, then hit apply. Doing that then hard-exiting out of Steam (clicking on where it says "Steam" to the top-left and clicking exit) then starting it back up again, I tried running ESO and it worked just fine.
Consider giving this a try before doing anything crazy.

So in essence, follow those instructions above and relaunch the game. Finally. it worked. This worked for me and hopefully if anyone else has these issues, this will help them resolve it faster than it took me. Goodl luck!
