A question about leveling crafts using writs

Hi all,

I've recently have been playing ESO again as a new character and have been doing some crafting. I've now started completing the writs each day but have wondering if I should level by just doing the writs alone or by doing the writs and some "manual" crafting too? Is it a wiser choice to save up the materials for the writs and just do those each day?

Thank you

Decon everything, especially those pieces you get from the writs. Most of your xp will be done while deconing gear, especially gear above your level if you have a friend, have them send you some junk gear they pick up.

    Many thanks,

I only just discovered today that its possible to obtain improvement items such as Hemming from refining Raw Materials. I also noted the 'unraveling' skill which linked to this.
