vMA Vet

So I am still a pretty low level CP (210). I am a Mag Sorc, wondering when would be a good time to first give it a go, is this a must CP 600 before running it? Currently, I don't have my full gear set that I need. Going Burning Spellweave, I have enough pieces for the bonuses just not the right traits, I have one with Divines the rest are random.

Thoughts/advice?

My first magsorc clear was around CP 400 in fully crafted gear, so you don't need anything special. Just a lot of patience/practice.

I was pretty average at this game until I finished vMA. Afterwards, my situational awareness and general "how to deal damage and not die" abilities improved greatly.

In short, go for it but don't be discouraged when you get your ass kicked.

Unless you're a very (strong awareness player) I'd hold out until CP 300 my first clear was 230 and I consider myself (good) but it was really really hard.

Gear should be llambris / julianos or scathing mage (for crit on a mage sorc) I wouldn't touch bsw in vMA as I firmly believe that's a mistake due to lack of crit = lack of heals making your life harder than it needs to be.

    My 2 cents mate.

Your first time through it wont be any easier at CP 600 than it is at CP 200 ... that's partly hyperbole, but the fact remains, you're gonna die a lot either way.

Success in VMA is all about persistence and experience, not really gear and CP. You're going to suck and struggle terribly the first time. It only gets easier, and ultimately easy, with repetition. Lots of repetition.

Thanks for the information is this comparable to Dragon Star Arena as I have done that but just on normal and it was way to easy.

For sure on the Julianos but broke at the moment as I just spent a ton of gold on my NB for PvP. BSW can be farmed which is why I went that route but I see your point on he crit etc. Working on farming the Ilambris monster set for shoulders/helm. Have hlem just not with the right devines but once I get the correct divines on all my gear I will give vMA a try and let you know if the BSW was doable.

It is comparable on inasmuch as the difference between normal and vet. Normal Dragonstar and Normal Maelstrom are both designed for really lower level toons, and so are comically simple for players with any CP. But vet jumps way up in difficulty. Also both are similar in that learning them, experience with them, makes them come way down in complexity.
Maelstrom is it's own thing though - you are your own healer, you are your own tank, you are your own DPS.
