What's that lake SE of Elinhir? (off map exploration in a new direction)

I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to bolt escape up through cliffs to get into there today. Anyone know a way around from elsewhere? I want to go into that lake. I don't even know its name.

I am profoundly ready for new zones to be filled up with mobs and places to farm, even if the stories and civilization bits aren't accessible. Just a huge swathe of territory to roam around without all being stuck on rails like the original zones. Let's get to Akavir and let the ESO devs make an entirely new mark in the TES universe instead of rehashing already known areas.

Eh... I deal with stormwater pollution as part of my real life job. You'll find this practice occurs more commonly than you would expect.

there doesn't appear to be any way into that area - although, from what I've read that doesn't seem to stop some of you more relentless explorers...

I remember trying to find a way in, but, finally gave up...

The way I got out is literally on the other side of the map. It was a long ride back.

Yep that's where I get out of map too Craglorn is so beautiful beyond the borders.

I have to dig through my screenshots tonight but you can get out of the map in Craglorn and walk to that lake. But the spot where you can leave the map is not anywhere near the lake itself. You'll have to do some walking around the checkered map.

Will you mail me your @name in-game (I'm @runagate pc/na) and hip me to this spot. I know quite a few but none in Craglorn. In fact, until very recently, I hadn't puttered around there since my VR 12 to 14 days.

[ edit ] actually, strange as it may seem, you can tell from my initial post that it never even occurred to me to exit anywhere in Craglorn, that's how unfamiliar with the edge bits I am nowadays. Long, long ago I posted images of my sneaking into Craglorn from Bangkoria just a bit before it was patched in.

There's a place on the checkered map where, viewed from far above, someone wrote "Santie is our favourite" (no idea why the Brittish spelling variant was used)

okay, i've read some posts from some the more expertise escape artists amongst us...I tried myself a few times - but, i am obviously lacking seriously in effort, imagination and persistence...

i'm getting to this stupid lake...i don't care how long it takes me - before i claim another pvp bounty, undaunted monster helm, set piece, make another guild trader sale or anything else - I'M FINDING A WAY OUT OF THESE MAPS - ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!!

Edit: what the heck is going on in this last pic - are you riding a raft, huck finn style , in the middle of the lake?

If I could only get an official comment from ZOS if breaking out of the map is against TOS or not. I would post video of every PvE map in the game that you can break out of.

Well, they've said in the past that doing so to exploit is definitely against the TOS. This, of course, was in the context of messing with home Gates in Cyrodiil. Now that it nukes you for I think 100k damage like the center island no one does that anymore. Sadly, we who escape the map and love to do so are our own antagonists as we tend to report how we did it via /bug and such, and thus close the door behind us. They are weirdly good about following up on such reports.

Yet I despise the invisible walls and weird cliff-climbing physics that were introduced long ago so, so, so much.

Very much against breaking out of the map in PvP areas and trials like we saw a couple months ago with vMoL. But I find "escaping" and "jumping puzzles" in PvE safe zones very relaxing and fun.

Yeah, good point. I'd forgotten about the MoL exploit. Never paid much attention to what they were doing but know why.

For some reason my last excursion into mountaineering reminded me of playing Super Mario 64 and taking that header off the rainbow road and landing way, way down below as a shortcut.

I can't imagine the persistence and patience you all must have...i thought I'd score the winning superbowl touchdown when I finally figured out how to get to the southern half of bangkorai without having to go through the garrison - and that was all on the map...

It was in Craglorn, albeit on the other side of the map, so I had to run across mountains to get back to the lake. I also had to avoid what I called "the Shadow Lands" because the ground was pitch black and it was impossible to see if you were riding off a cliff.

Thanks, jamesj for the tour. I had a superb time and went all the way as far as I could to the NE to the very edge of the world. I spent a couple hours climbing all over before finally getting stuck in a little divot.

Have you gone to Vvardenfell island? Nothing there tho ;( just flat checkerboard lol. I was super disappointed.

took a spin around the outskirts of the craglorn map...thought I found something around hel ra citadel and then by the dragonstar arena - but, no luck on either...i'll keep trying - as a bonus - good farming session while I was searching...

noticed that the horse can get you to some spots regular jumping can't...

There's still a way to get through those insta-gib invisible barriers they put around the alliance camps.

You have to be outside the map for it to work and do specific things in a certain order but it is still doable.
Good thing is that most people don't know how to do any of that.

Good thing is that most people don't know how to do any of that.

I don't think it'd especially matter nowadays since there's that instakill spell like around IC. Even when people used to do it it didn't seem especially effective, as everyone people killed could simply respawn and even with an FC there wasn't much chance of holding out long in another alliances loading in/respawn point.

I seem to recall horse clipping back in the day, don't know if that's still a thing. I sure hate those walls, though.
