I learned today that these crafting stations can only be attuned to ONE crafted set after you go to that location with your 250 writ voucher Attunable Station then take it home and you can always make that one set until you need something else. As far as I know the change is permanent?

I am a crafter and I do lots of master writs. Those writs are generally different crafted sets. I was hoping these stations would save some time getting writs done etc.

Zenimax what were you thinking with a one set only crafting station that costs about the same as Atherial Abrosia Recipe and Ebony Complete Motif?

Will the Crown Store be selling an all in one crafting station? I would buy that in a heartbeat, but I guess Zenimax already knows how to get my money.

Sincerly,

Floki

I think the idea is that you attune each one to a popular set whose stations are in really hard (or annoying) to reach places so then you can make those sets whenever you want.

If people are afraid to go to crafting stations in the IC, then I guess you would have to balance your fear and your wealth in writ vouchers.

I am just saying, permanent attunment to one set, is not practical for most players at the current price.

As far as the above mentioned tool tip comment: The description or "tool tip" states, "Use when at an Item Set Crafting Station to create a copy, which can then be placed in your house. (5 second cooldown)".

What does this description mean? What is the cooldown? Does this only allow one change or can I change sets every 5 seconds?

I have checked patch notes and cannot find answers.

The Cool down is present on all use able items so that's nothing new. As for the rest i thought it was pretty clear that it turns into the set crafting station. They probably are better used in a guild house where multiple people can contribute to purchasing them.

It's a shame you're only learning of this now. It has been known for some time.

Yes it would obviously be more valuable to players if the station could remember more than one set but that's not what they've given us. Personally I put these in the too-much-effort-to-obtain-compared-to-effort-they're-supposed-to-save pile and disregard. At least for now.

They have always been that way since they showed up on PTS.... but yes, I do agree with you. they are a waste of writ vouchers. It would be nice to have several of them, but they're definitely of lower importance (to me at least) than getting all the Ebony Motifs, the Target Skeleton, a full set of normal crafting stations, etc... :)

Did some people think you could just change it to a different station when you wanted to craft a different set?

Thought it always seemed pretty clear you need several of these stations if you want to be able to craft various sets at your house. For example, now you can craft Hunding's Rage anytime in your house. How is that a waste? If you want to craft Clever Alchemist, you need a second one.

Or am I misunderstanding the OP's complaint?

I understood that they were single set attunable only but did not think of them as being beneficial to completing master writs. Of all of the MWs I have done, I think I might have had to use the same set once, but on a different bench. This would not make it helpful at all.

If I did get any, they would be IC sets, simply because they are the most 'inconvenient' to reach. They aren't hard to get to these days, only inconvenient and time consuming.

I already have the target skeleton and will be getting alchemy and enchanting tables today as I can see they will assist with the MWs. Beyond that I am not sure what I will do with my vouchers.

uhhh... as someone who bought one attunable and went and attuned it, i disagree.

i plan to have several more ready to go by morrowind.

Also, complaining about its not being useful enough and then saying you want it for crowns... that reeks more of "want it quick and easy" than it being done wrong.

But i think there may be a misunderstanding.

the purpose of the attunable stations and what they obviously help with is bringing a few key stations to easy access.

In my case, i did the trek/slugfest into Cyrodil and IC to get an armor master blacksmith station setup.

its now in my primary residence alongside the seven normal stations, my target dummy and my assistants.

So now I (as well as my friends and members of the guild i let in) can all craft the metal armor and weapons for this set anytime we want with no longer run into PVP involved.

i was pondering bringing in the clever alchemist ones too - also a fight thru to get to but not anything like Cyro/IC for armor master.

once i see whats in morrowind, will make up my mind.

But the Am station has already served me well and my friends.

But the attunable stations are not there to be a one-stop master writ fixer-upper.

Though i do use the other stations a lot and especially the consumables make doing those master writs easy.

    YMMV

Attunable stations is one of the my favorite features of homestead. Not having to travel to set locations that are far away from shrines is a godsend.

I've already got the 3 IC sets... and will continue to get them based on PITA to reach. So Fighters Guild and Mages Guild sets are probably next. Then maybe trial by fire... Or perhaps I will just save up vouchers for attunable stations for Morrowind sets. Even if easy to reach, just being able to share them with guild mates that don't plan on getting it.

They should make attune crafting stations per zone as opposed to singularly. For example, if you choose to attune your station to zone 1 (stonefalls, glenumbra, auridon) then youd be able to use that station to create the sets in those zones (night silence, death wind, ashens grip). They could cost more too.

If you have 750 writ vouchers you can make one set of the same gear over and over. That is all bottom line. You can never change that set so I hope you make a lot of that set only.

If you had sold the sealed master writs you spent on the above mentioned attunable stations, you would have earned at least 3 million gold.

Sealed Master Writs averaging 2 writ vouchers sell for 8k min. The 3 stations to have a full set cost 250 writ vouchers each.

750 total cost divided by selling the lowest price writ vouchers (2 writ vouchers) = 375

375 cheap sealed writ vouchers at minimum cost of 8k = (375×8,000) or 3,000,000

    Easy math.

I would take the 3 million gold over those items.

Can you ever change your 3,000,000 station into a different set?

Where are you getting that many writ vouchers? IC sets? There are two sets in the IC so you are claiming to have already? That means you have all 3 stations for both sets. Wow! That is 1500 writ vouchers or 6,000,000 gold if you had sold them.

This guy sounds crazy wealthy in writ vouchers so I guess cost is not an issue.

I have 2 mastercrafters and I am lucky to earn 5 or 10 vouchers per day. My first voucher was for like 100 vouchers so I thought they would all be pretty big. I have not gotten another writ voucher over 10 writ points since.

A guild I belong to said they want 26,250 writ vouchers donated so they can put in a bunch of these sets. That makes sense.

I was only saying these stations are not practical for the majority of players. Rich people and big guilds have the resources to make this work.

    Thank you,

On PC NA many writs available for between 2-3k per voucher.

And frankly gold flows so very easily in this game i would not trade my armor master set (assuming cannot buy one0 for any amount of money.

The attuned station saves me TIME.
The attuned station saves my friends TIME.
The attuned station saves my guildmates TIME.
My TIME in game is limited, my gold isnt limited - given sufficient TIME.

But not everyone values things the same way so, i understand how you might see it differently.

End game i can see if multiple people have multiple houses with a few sets each. Then it would be fine. But honestly the trek and access to the crafting station is sometimes half the fun.

Also some of it is behind DLC content.

If they were going to make any change on the scale of what you describe, i would instead make it a workshop - still tied to one set but able to craft all three types of pieces for that set.

Any set i would want attuned i would hope to get all three types of crtafting for but there are few zones where i want all three sets - except wrothgar maybe.

This is a good idea. I'm thinking for a guild with a heap of members lots of people would want a lot of different sets. My idea would be that it would reduce the amount you need because some sets double up into the one station.

Or maybe they could just make one station be able to be attuned to like 3 or so dif stations and you can choose whatever you want.

I think the idea of having an entire workshop is something they should consider for sure.

I just wish they were re-attunable. Such that once you nolonger care about Set X, you could pick up your station and carry it to Set Y and re-attune it. Example, Twice Born Star was once a super sought after set, but thanks to some changes in the game, it's no longer consider to be so great any more. I would hate to have spent that many writ vouchers to get it only to have it become obsolete.

Or hell, let them make money off it by selling Re-attunement vouchers from the crown store for 1000 crowns or something. Just don't make it so expensive that people wouldn't be able to afford to change all three crafting stations.
