Guild Guidance for a new player

Hello fellow ESO Players,
I have reviewed the TOS and searched many other ares on this site, however; I have failed to find an answer to questions I have that concern making a Guild. Is it against any rule or policy to make an age restriction on a guild. For instance, if I only want to invite 25 year old people and up, will this be a problem? What if I invite only a certain time zone, such as EST? Also, does anyone know if it would it be an issue with the developers of ESO if I want to exclude werewolves and vampire's from my Guild? Please be nice. Thanks

As far as I can tell, having been in both a series of guilds and ran my own for a time, all of those conditions are entirely valid and OK for you to do. I've been in age-restricted guilds, and while I have not been in an anti-werewolf/anti-vampire guild I have seen them around (especially on RP guild postings). So if you want a guild that is only 25+ running in EST with an absolute refusal to werewolves and vampires, by all means :)

(But just as a side note of personal preference and experience from other games, I've found that limited guilds miss out on some really amazing people down the road).

Don't think there any legal issues with regards to limits but have seen that chat does not treat those sort of limits nicely so either have a very thick skin or just do personal invites rather than public ones. Also would say try out any sale pitches with friends first to see how they come over as wording can influence how people react.

You are creating your guild excactly the way YOU want. You set up your goals. You set up your rules. Poeple that agree with your visions will be attracted to you and join. And poeple that don't, will not join your guild.

And that's very fine. It's your call, your buisness, your path. No one can and should ever judge you for it. Now, this doesn't guarantee you success. That's once again, up to you to make your vision come true...

We have a 16+ rule in our guild purely because some of the filth that gets talked about on TS is not fit for younger ears... ;)

And I know it's an 18 game but we don't want to be too restrictive! lol!

Ehh, maturity doesn't seem to match with age in-game in ESO..

    Hi again,

In response to those who gave a reply, currently, I'm struggling with age restricting my Guild in ESO and as GreenhaloX pointed out, "Ehh, maturity doesn't seem to match in-game in ESO".

My first in-home PC was bought new in 1998. Soon, I was introduced to online gaming and I became involved with games such as, The Sims Online, There and Secondlife. I spent as many hours as I could after work and when my family went to sleep, delving into these fantasy worlds.
As some will remember, these were not action/adventure games but more social structure in nature.

The point is, I've interacted with a myriad of people from all over the world and many different ages.
Now that I'm retired, I have much more time for online play. By narrowing down to specific age, time zone and play types, it is my hope to find a small group of people to have fun with that may have similar likes.
Balancing social, action and adventure with mature individuals who live in the same time zone as I do.
The logic is to make it easier to plan events in such a way so that Guild members all have an opportunity to become involved, without the hindrance of a different time zone.

The exclusion of Werewolves and Vampires is my personal fear of those kind of creatures, probably from watching too much late night horror flicks.

Thank you all for your time and thoughts here, you have been a big help to me.

Be Cool and take care always.

By the way, werewolves aren't transformed all the time, in fact can't stay furry for extended periods at all [unless they are within a certain radius of the werewolf shrine]. You'd never know any of my 12 characters is a werewolf if you met me in game. I seldom use the ultimate, but being able to slot it does come in handy at times depending on what pve activity I'm doing.

Good luck with your guild. I would ask for more information; I play in the NA/PC server, unfortunately am well over your age threshold, have an empty guild slot, and have a few maxed out crafters that can be helpful to guildmates. However I would not qualify due to the werewolf issue.

You raise an excellent point JKorr and I thank you for your reply.

At the moment, my Guild is only in the planning stages.
Consider me enlightened, as I never knew that Werewolves were only transformed for a very limited time.
Perhaps I should reconsider not restricting Werewolves, they sound interesting, creative and rather helpful indeed.

Now my question is... what about Vampires?
Would someone be so kind as to share the good points about Vampires, thus I could possibly open my Guild to them as well, if they so chose to join?

I'm still looking for 40+ only members guild, no success so far. A big problem is to confirm for sure a real age since it's an internet and everyone here is always young rich and beautiful ;)

Far as I know, as long as you don't have any real discrimination in your guild (E.G. No black people. No jews. No Spanish people. Things like that) You are ok. I have not only been in, but have run previous guilds where some restrictions applied. The difficult part is trying to determine the liars from the truth tellers. People can always lie about age and any other restrictions you might be able to apply unless you add requirements (E.G. Must have (Insert voice client here)). It's a little difficult to manage sometimes, but totally within your rights as a guild leader to place restrictions. And yes, you can exclude werewolves and vampires form your guild. If there are vamp/werewolf only guilds out there, then you can certainly have a non vamp/werewolf guild. Especially if you are becoming an RP guild.

Unfortunately, you are 100% correct Gargath and there is no absolute way to be sure if someone is telling the truth about how old they are in game.

With that said, placing an age restriction of 25 year old and up, may be just enough of a barrier to ward off immature players from contacting me for an invite.

I run a guild on ps4 with an 18+ age requirement. Has worked very well for me, and my guild has been active since launch.

There used to be a vampire/werewolf/undead hunting guild, so I think it's ok if you have restriction to vampires. The thing is, the majority of players have at least one vampire/werewolf character, it will be hard to find guild members with that restriction.

My guild is pretty much a bunch of guys that are married with kids, in the military or both. We're all pretty laid back, and we're big into theory crafting, and PvPing. We don't exactly have an age restriction, but don't expect an invite if you're annoying or if we don't know you.
