Scaling housing items?

I excitedly just craft some cups, a bowl and a kitchen knife. The bowl was barely big enough for a cat, whereas the cups were large enough to function as vases, and the "kitchen" knife was bigger than my longsword... I can't figure out if I'm supposed to be able to scale them or not. Sometimes if I backed across the room, and place the vases down, they'd seem to be a bit smaller, but it seemed haphazard.

Also tiny items should not take up a whole slot maybe .5 of a slot if you set a table for a fest you can use up too 300 slots and that's just sad

We cannot scale items sadly. I sincerely hope in future such a function will be added.
