What are people's thoughts to have periodic double AP events that run for a week. Say maybe once every couple months?

At one time we had tons more people in PVP - 10 campaigns and there were fun battles all over the map 24/7, even weeknights. And the population caps were much higher back then.
Currently we have only one busy campaign (Trueflame), and even this one is dead sometimes late at night. We have a serious problem with not enough people participating in PVP. It seems to be only a few hundred of us most nights, compared to tens of thousands or more in PVE.
During the double AP weekend we had lots of fun battles again all night long. I hope some of the people who tried it and normally don't participate in PVP stick around.
More Double AP weekends from time to time would help get more people in Cyrodiil. There are lots of players who only started PVP'ing to get some skill like vigor, had fun and never left.

I hadn't pvped since before IC dropped, and was shocked how small the populations are on those servers. Pop locked server, there was only 2 major groups per alliance, and those were 12 people actually online, not 20.
I don't think double AP would really change much though. I don't pvp because resource flipping I find quite dull, like farming dolmens or grinding skyreach, and most small group pvp was just about fast ganking to avoid getting rolled by the zerg from what I saw, which is also boring to me.
I play ESO to be entertained, and PvE, for all it's flaws, I'm almost always DOING something. PvP was a lot or riding and waiting, with brief (usually 10 second or less) combats. Until the ratio of action vs riding simulator is different, I will only PvP to unlock skills, and I think a lot of people have similar complaints.
Its however the same as you would get on two weeks beforeStovahkiin wrote: »I really didn't like the event. It's basically just a slap in the face to all the people that have spent significant amounts of time grinding AP before the event.

I see this logic used all the time in events like this and its baffling to me.
That logic could literally be applied to anything. 2x exp, crown sales, holiday events.
That logic is extremely selfish imo. It's not like the same players that spent "significant" amounts of time grinding AP were exempt from the event. THAT would be a real slap in the face.

And we have also like maybe 90% of eso players who are mostly PvE players who feel "forced" to play PvP - because there are plenty of skill points that you get as a reward in participating in PvP and gaining AP.
In short - the event caused PvE players to play PvP and suddenly all campaigns became 100% occupied with additional 120 people waiting in queues making PvP harder for true PvP players to join. Not to mention - it was more of AP farming...

I'm glad it's over.
I don't ever want to see a pve player complain about getting vigor again.
I'm really disappointed in Daggerfall players and Ebonheart players that participated in boosting in Azura's Star. Everyone knows you didn't earn that. What's even more disappointing is that these players are "the best" pve players. I don't think they would be too happy if pvp players could just sit in maw and suddenly get the title
