Stamina NB Group Setup

Seen a lot of people saying Stamblades aren't good in groups, I have to disagree. I know.. most groups are Negates/Destros/Heals, but Stamblades still have a role and most good group leads know this.

When in larger groups I've been running this setup for quite awhile and it has proven to be successful time and time again.
  • Dawnbreaker
  • Ambush
  • Surprise Attack
  • Steel Nader
  • Cloak
  • Fear
  • Warhorn/Soul Tether (Flex)
  • Caltrops
  • Shuffle
  • Vigor
  • Rally
  • Rapids

What you bring to the group - speed, fears/CC, snares, dawnbreakers, and AOE executes.

Yes, a lot of this can be done with other stam classes, but same goes for magicka with destro ults and healing springs. IMO, stamblades bring a good dynamic to the group, they also take a little pressure off the (often only 1) Negate builds.

Gear - I normally run Eternal Hunt and a hodgepodge of Jewels and Weapons. I'd like to try out Hircine's but don't have it. I think on average you'd want minimum 2k recov and about 3k dmg.

(Isn't meant to be anything other than a stam tip for being more helpful in groups larger than say, 8.)

The issue is that there's nothing Nightblade specific here other than fear. Whereas Templars bring a purge/shards, DKs immobilize and provide minor brutality, and Sorcs provide negate.

Mentioning abilities anyone can grab doesn't make a convincing argument that stamblades are good for the group.

I mentioned that in the post, and Negate builds are uncontested champions of utility, no question about that. I've ran utility builds on all my other stam classes (not talking about Sorc, even though I did do it for little while), and really my only argument would be that it's just easier on a NB compared to a DK/Temp. No real evidence other than an opinion on that one. Probably just me.

Either way, the post was just to put out some ideas for people that want something to do with their stamblades aside from gank. Which is what a lot of posts have been about lately. I think the nerf to proc sets have a lot of new NB's looking for something else. Just meant to be some guidance off the ledge from grinding new characters.

And honestly, the ambush/DB/Nado combo > all other stambombs.

If you use that set up for group play I would highly recommend you to play as a stam sorc. Not only will you do more damage, but you'll be more mobile with streak, and also more defensive while still providing the utility of negate

Dude/Dudette, I am not a Stamsorc. I am aware of how ridiculous Stamsorcs are for utility. However, there are people on these forums that seem to not know anything about group play. Above is a simple suggestion for them while playing on their NB's in groups. I really don't like when people suggest people to play a certain class.

"Play how you want" but at the same time add value and don't be a scrub. That's all this really is ; )

I have a similar build for NB group play that is centered around generating fast ultimate and using Thrive in Chaos to enhance both damage and survivability.

    http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/the-black-panther-group-build-stamina-pvp-one-tamriel/

I think you're right that Mass Hysteria and Steel Tornado are great skills in group situations where there are a lot of Negates.

I like my build, but I still feel like I have to be super careful about dodging out of Eye of the Storm, and my stamina is a bit low while running blue health/stam regen food. I haven't run the build during Homestead yet, but I am thinking about switching out Witchman for Hulking Draugr.

That's pretty cool. I've never used that ult mainly cause it can be purged and I prefer the burst over DoTs on my Stamblade. That said, you could run that build with DBoS and be able to drop ults almost non-stop. Could be cool.

In terms of utility sets though on a NB, I think the best way you could go would be something like Powerful Assault/Hircine's Veneer/Troll King. I think that would actually give a lot of gear based buffs to a group. It's completely different from your ult regen build, but I dunno, it would work.

If I could make a suggestion - - I'd recommend dropping Warrior and running Serpent, then using tri-food.

I ran a full support build on my stamblade for a while with Powerful Assault. You're going to be spamming rapids and vigor anyway, might as well help buff the damage of the group.

That said, a good clutch fear can net your group a TON of kills. The problem is that MagBlades can spam it more often, and MagBlade Destro Ultis are stupidly strong.

A Stamblade can be played effectively in group. Other classes are just stronger at the moment in large group play. But it's not like you can't do it and be good.
