I purchased last seasons as I wanted a lot of the items, I have not purchased any this seasons as I don't care for any of them, I am looking forward to next seasons Dwemer theme and will assess then if I buy anything then.
As I have said across many threads I am buying crates (and as such supporting them) but I do feel they are a scummy business decision. However I have disposable income and spend a lot of my free time on ESO so I get use out of the items I buy.
If I wasn't buying crowns I would be spending the money on RPG books which I tend to half read and shelf forever or more Star Wars Lego which I build then leave on a shelf to gather dust.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

Anyway, I check the Crown store often and there are a few things I'd like to get, but currently "undecided" because I need to plan a little for the future. I need furniture and and a nice house to "settle" somewhere (cosmetic, I know), so I need to determine my gold/Crown spending.
I'm not millions in gold rich (haven't even hit 250k yet) and my sub Crowns just stockpile. I'll spend. In due time.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Only items in the Crown StoreI probably wouldn't buy Crowns at all because there is not much up for direct purchase anymore, so little that my sub Crowns are collecting dust. But I felt like saying that I would never buy Crowns would be a little excessive, since it is not like I am opposed to buying Crowns; I just never needed to, not when there is so little to buy through direct purchase to begin with.
I am someone with 10 characters that doesn't like to use the same mount, pet, personality, costume or hair style on two characters, so I am willing to buy a bunch of stuff, but ZOS isn't selling much
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.

Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.

If I've already gotten anything I want out of the crates (of the mid-tier items... apex mounts are too rare to bother), it would all go to the store, probably to help pay for a larger house. ✭✭Only items in the Crown StoreIf I were to spend $80 USD on Crowns in one pop, I am definitely not spending it on ANY of those Scam Crates.
If I go to the Cash Shop in ANY of the MMO's I play, I never buy the Scam Gamble boxes. I see something I want, I pay a set price, I get what I paid for.
IMO; I think it's completely ignorant to: take the time and income to buy Crowns, get one of those Scam Crates, and have a better chance of getting nothing but garbage instead of the one or two things I might want. And with the RNG triple-hitting you per Scam crate that you open, your odds of getting the exact thing you want is abhorrently small.
And then you've just wasted $80 USD for zero gain. I am not OK with that.
Nope. If I get Crowns, I go to the Crown Store, select an item for a Set price, I get exactly the item I wanted. No risk. No disappointment. No RNGsus shafting me between the cheeks.
The Scam Gamble boxes are exactly that; a Scam.
