Moving and my toons

I'm going to be moving from Scotland to Canada in the near future and wondered if I will be able to use my characters that are currently on the EU megaserver on the NA mega server? Are characters account wide, or localised to specific servers. If localised, can you have them transferred to another server? If not, does anyone have experience of moving and just using the original server successfully without too much lag? I really don't want to have to start again with nothing.

No you cannot use your EU characters on the NA server.

    Characters are server specific.

No you cannot transfer your characters between servers.

Cannot answer the last as I have not.

I have a friend that plays from Scotland on the NA server and I'm from America and can play on the EU server with no issues so i don't see why you won't be able to still play on the EU server when you come to NA

I'm from South Africa, which isn't exactly close to either server. It works well enough for me. I've never had enough latency to bother me to the extend that I actually started looking at the values.

I'd would pay to be able to move everything from Eu server over to Na

I also play on both servers (living in the EU), and in most cases don't have problems. The latency is usually a bit higher on the NA server for me, but still good. So I would guess, it's the same the other way round, if you just want to continue playing on the EU server from Canada.

One item that a friend of mine did notice is that they can't use the same names on both servers.

That must be something they've changed recently. I have a Breton Templar named Alix de Feu on both EU and NA.
Guildmaster of the UESP Guild on the North American PC/Mac Server 2350+ CP & also found on the European PC/Mac Server 1700+ CP

These characters are on both servers:
Alix de Feu - Breton Templar Healer level 50
    Brings-His-Own-Forest - Argonian Warden Healer level 50
Hrodulf Bearpaw - Nord Warden Bear Friend & identical twin of Bjornolfr level 50
Jadisa al-Belkarth - Redguard Arcanist Damage Dealer level 50

    NA-only characters:
Martin Draconis - Imperial Sorceror Healer (Aldmeri Dominion) level 50
Arzhela Petit - Breton Dragonknight Healer (Daggerfall Covenant) level 50
Bjornolfr Steel-Shaper - Nord Dragonknight Crafter (Ebonheart Pact) level 50 EAGERLY AWAITING HIS BEAR
Verandis Bloodraven - Altmer Nightblade Healer & clone of Count Verandis Ravenwatch (Aldmeri Dominion) level 50
Gethin Oakrun - Bosmer Nightblade Thief (Ebonheart Pact) level 50

It was probably already taken on one server.

I looked at my latency tonight. It was 400 ms, which is quite bad, but we had a nasty storm going around. That normally does mess up my internet.
