What am I supposed to do with Crowns that I should not have?

My subscription to ESO plus ended on 1 March. On 5 March I received 1500 crowns, as if I was still subscribed. I contacted support and they give me a list of web sites and FAQ which had no bearing on the issue. I know they are busy with other matters, but what am I supposed to do with these extra crowns? If I spend them, will it affected me the next time I subscribe to ESO Plus? If I buy more crowns, will there be problems with the total quantity?

When I checked my account on the web site, there was no indication that I had any Crowns, hence I assumed it was a game issue because only in-game was telling me I had Crowns. My apology for putting this in the wrong forum,

I intentionally discontinued my ESO Plus subscription. I got confirmation on 18 February that I had cancelled payment and Microsoft would discontinue the subscription. My access to ESO Plus was removed on 1 March, just like it was supposed to.

I still don't know why I got Crowns a full week after my subscription had expired, however, I did get a follow up email from support regarding my ticket.

    "Hey there, weathered traveler. *waves*

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online team. My name is Christian. I am so sorry to hear about your troubles with extra crowns. It is a pleasure to chat with you today.

Thank you for you honesty and concern with fair trade. After looking at your account I can confirm that everything is ok. As a valued member of the community we thank you for bringing this to our attention. On behalf of the prince of Stendarr please keep these crowns as a gift from ESO support team.

Should you have any other questions, or feel the above does not apply to you, please do not hesitate to reply back to this email. I would be happy to look into your matter further. Thank you for your continued interest and support!"

Thank you everyone or trying to help.

This is not a game software bug. You should report this in the Forums > General > Crown Store & ESO Plus section. On the Support page for this website, be sure to contact the account support personnel, not tech support for the game.

On which date did you suspend your ESO Plus subscription? ZOS bills your credit/debit account in advance of the next ESO Plus subscription expiration date. When payment is received, your Crown Store account is credited with 1499 Crowns. So, probably, you suspended the subscription after ZOS billed your credit/debit account and that did not stop them from receiving payment.

Check your ZOS account online to see whether the ESO Plus subscription is suspended. It will probably tell you that you have approximately 25+ days remaining on your subscription, even if it is suspended. Check also your credit/debit account to determine when your lender/bank paid ZOS for the subscription.

If you want your money back, then contact the staff for account support. Whether ZOS will reverse the transaction, I cannot say, but don't spend the 1499 Crowns unless you choose to accept continuing the ESO Plus subscription for the time remaining reported for your account. Note that you can buy Crowns at any time regardless of whether you have an ESO Plus subscription active or suspended. (They are separate transactions, so that shouldn't affect whether ZOS will refund the subscription charge.)

My opinion? You contacted them with the issue. They gave a crappy canned response like they always do so go ahead and spend them. If they cared, they would have spent time on an actual response instead of brushing you off.

Many apologies as I thought I did move this to the correct location, being Crown Store & ESO Plus. I have moved this thread to the correct section this time.

    Agreed.

Check whether a payment went out of your account in March. If it did then definitely follow the ticket up so you can get the money back.

But if you're sure you didn't pay for it then I'd say you've done your bit by letting them know and if ZOS choose not to follow it up that's up to them.

    Ha!

There are reports of people doing this 8+ times and still getting the same inane response asking you to reply if your problem hasn't been resolved. I've gotten to 5 of those responses myself before giving up.

The OP has done the right thing and notified the company of the error. If they miss the opportunity to correct it because of their sadistic CS, that's their problem.

Ah, if you're on Xbox there's another possibility: There have been many cases of subscribers never receiving their crowns for months when they were subscribed, or having to contact Support every single time the payment goes through to get ESO Plus activated.

Apparently they've started delivering those crowns in bulk, and sometimes giving free crowns to people who had problems in the past as compensation.

Yeah, I logged into my old xbox account recently just because, and saw I had over 9k crowns and when i had left, I knew i had zero. I'm assuming that was because of the mess I had to endure when i was subbing. I didn't receive anything from ZoS and got my 6 month sub refunded from MS about a year ago when I left ESO.

Wouldn't touch both ESO and the sub on Xbox again
