Character transfer possible? - solved

DeltaFlame94
So here's the situation, my girlfriend and I both play ESO, but we have our own characters on the same account so we can't play with eachother. Is there a way to send a character to another account? For example, if my girlfriend made her own account could I send her character over to her somehow, or would she have to start over from scratch? (Or any other alternatives to achieve the same thing that I just haven't thought of).

Not offered at this time so she would have to make a new character. No word on whether character transfers will be available in the future.

I thought sharing an account was against the TOS, at least on PC.

The only transfers ESO ever had were the PC-to-console ones, years ago, when the game was launched for consoles. But these were account transfers, not character transfers.

I mean we both play the game on literally the same computer, and the same IP. We live together so it's not like I gave her my password to my account when she lives somewhere else. She made the character before Tamriel Unlimited so what were we going to do, pay twice the subscription amount just so we could both play?

Do you play on the same computer with separate accounts? If so, you can download the game to a second computer and you can both play at the same time.

If you share an account, then yes I do not believe it's something which is allowed. If you both want to play, both of you should get your own account. You can buy a new account fairly inexpensively sometimes, for example during a Steam sale.

Prob not as the example we saw was pc to console but they make it seem like it's one save file and not individual characters but they also said it was a One time offering.

You shouldn't post this on the official forums. Account sharing is against the TOS.

This might get you banned. Careful OP. It's not about whether or not we think account sharing is okay(most don't care one way or the other), it's about it being against TOS.

And yes, there's no way to transfer characters between accounts. It seems like something that'd be exploited widely if there was.

No character transfer is not possible unfortunately.

She will need to start over with new account. Me and my wife have played since PC Beta and both subscribed even today with our own accounts.

True account sharing is against TOS however I think Zos will look it through the fingers usually when it's case inside same household like father and son sharing or man and wife etc. If sharing with friends across the globe then they might have something to say about it.

Ok, I'll get her her own account then, I don't want to risk getting banned, I wasn't aware that even having a joint account on the same computer was looked down upon, I thought it was mostly like "if you give out your password to random people online so they can all play one account", THAT I can understand being against ToS. Kinda like how Netflix works, for example. But I guess I'd be better off getting her her own account at this point, anyway.

Last person to say he plays his wifes account got them both banned.

ZOS gives no F's and is happy to make you both rebuy new accounts.

    Cheers!

You can have two different accounts on the same computer, you just log in under different names. Of course each account requires a game purchase.

Now, both of you don't need to subscribe, the game is buy to play and is about $20 now.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I got her her own separate account now, I hope that puts things in order.
