I am very new to ESO and my first toon lvl 5 Templar is really fun.
Can someone answer these Qs for me ?

a) In other MMOs you will be able to improve your stats/dmg by pimping your weapons from Auction House or heirlooms etc...Do we have any such concept like that ?
I am in this zone called "Stros M’Kai" and I see only one weapon merchant. Her weapons are just barely better than what I have now. And she is asking for ton of gold to buy them.

b) I bought a horse for some crowns from the crown store.I can see that horse in my collections but I believe I need to learn Riding before I am able to ride a horse. Can someone tell me where I can learn the riding skill in Stros M’Kai

c) Can I also buy gold from crown store ?

A, you can improve your weapon's quality at a blacksmith or woodwork station. You'll need upgrade materials to do this.
Don't worry about buying items from in-game merchants. You will out level them quickly and as you mentioned, they are expensive.
Guild stores will have good set weapons, but can be much more expensive.

B, you can ride your horse immediately. The riding lessons just increase speed, stamina and carry capacity. Make sure you train your horse each day.
You need to summon you horse to ride it.

C, no, you can't buy gold.

A few other points to note:

You don't have to train or buy any tools to loot crafting materials. Simply walk up to a node and start gathering or mining or chopping or what have you.

You also don't have to train to learn any of the crafting professions starting out. So you can make yourself some weapons and armor right away. You will eventually have to put points into crafting professions to make higher level/ better quality items.

In the start its easiest to just to upgrade gear with looted one, just switch then you find something better.
Questing is pretty easy so combat is mostly about using the right skills and learn to handle the various enemies.

WOW has heirloom items for leveling alts. ESO has crafted training armor it level you faster and give set bonuses, if you are in an friendly guild you might get someone to make it for you cheap.

The starting zone is small, recommend that you do the quests on it then leave to next zone.

One weird thing with ESO is that its leveled to your level, you will not out level zones or get into zones where enemies kill you in one hit, you will find high level characters running around killing the same monsters as you.
They kill them faster but that is because they have more skill, better gear and know how to play.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

As others have said, you can ride immediately by setting the horse you've bought as your active mount in the Collections screen. However, in order to train yourself to ride faster than walking speed, you need to go to a stable back on the mainland. I believe there should be a boat owner in Stros M'Kai who can take you to Daggerfall in Glenumbra. You may also have the wayshrine there unlocked already.

Riding lessons cost 250 gold each and you can train one stat every 20 hours. Alternatively, you can buy some Crown Riding Lessons from the Crown Store and click the items quickly to put 10 points into Speed right away.

Join some guilds! You can be in five player guilds at once, not including the in-game guilds like Fighters Guild and Mages Guild. Lots of us will happily make armor and weapon sets for new guild members for free. Also, the Trainee set which you pick up on the starter islands is very useful.
