Dragonknight Tank Gear Options

Hey all

So I started leveling a third (yes, third) dragonknight tank, this time Imperial, since I dont like the state of my other two and would rather just start over with a better race, Imperial (the othwr two were dunmer and nord). He is currently level 28.

I was wondering what gear would be good and OBTAINABLE without doing trials and no 9 trait sets.

I am almost 100% sure I want to use Ebon Armory. I have to write this post quick and go back to work so I won't write much else. I have been considering Alessia's Bulwark, Hist Bark, sets that give health. I am attemtping to reach 30k health, 20k magicka, 20k stamina.

Any help and advice is appreciated.

Ebon is pretty universally approved. Hist Bark or Tava's are the usual crafted set options. Everyone will tell you that it must be tavas for more ultimate etc etc, but if you can't / aren't / whatever running shuffle at all times then might as well go hist bark.

Akaviri Dragongaurd is another non-trial option that help with ultimate, farm it in Eastmarch (or buy, but jewelry can be expensive).

Not many other choices sadly. If you use Tri stat food at cp 160 (you didn't mention if you have CP you will unlock at 50 or not) as an imperial you should have no issues getting to those stat levels regardless of gear.

What about black rose, hatchlings shell, or if you're falling short of Max attribute goals trainee for the raw stat boost?

I'm curious as to if a pure ultimate building build would be viable. I'm talking having akaviri dragon guard, blessing of the potentates and tava's blessing. The only way this world work is if you have a main bar where you would have 5 tava's (4 armor 1weapon/shield) 5 akaviri (3 armor 2 rings) and 1 potentates(necklace) this also leaves open a slot that you could use a master's sword. Then the back bar would have 5 akaviri 3 potentates and 4 tava's. This would allow you to have 187 ultimate war horns.

I am CP 191 atm on my max levels, I definitely dont want to run Tavas because I wont be running shuffle.

Akaviri was another set i was considering, as well as hist bark.

@Lynx7386 how hard are those sets to obtain?

Well black rose was the hardest for me, I bought a few pieces buy they're expensive. I spent a few days farming tel var stones in the imperial city to finish the set. Black rose just helps with resources and is usually considered a pvp tank set.

Dreugh king slayer I plan to use for soloing on my tank, it gives major brutality at all times. That set is easy to to farm from vet fungal grotto.

Trainee is best purchased from guild traders, but can be expensive.

Hatchling shell I bought pretty cheap off guild traders, seems not many care for it. That set gives you a damage shield that renews itself every 15 seconds.

Bloodspawn head and shoulders (you can do Warden or the other one if you main tank trials).

I have a Tavas set... weapon, shield, chest legs and boots.

Then, I have every other set for a different situation.... waist, gloves, neck and both rings.
Akaviri for extra ultimate, Ebon for extra survivability for group, Plague Doctor for bosses that hit stupid hard.... I even have Burning Spellweve for 4 man quickie dungeons, lol. The options are endless, really. Just know that the Tavas set is interchangeable with any craftable set, so long as you craft the weapon, shield, chest, legs and boots. Like I said, endless for each situation. Good luck.
.... I have to admit, the devs do listen to reason, if not to the forums. Thank you for "nameplates", a welcome addition to immersion, as well as the text chat box for PS4, which only comes on the screen when I need it too, and helps this gameplay SO MUCH MORE then without it. THANK YOU for the additions. Very much appreciated.
