I believe this has been covered before but I haven't found a solution that seems to 'work'. Attached is a screenshot that shows the rock textures with a black stain or burnt feel to them. It happens predominantly on stone textures (keep walls, bridges, natural stone) but also on tree's and usually going 50% of the way up the tree.
I currently run various Addons however removing those Addons does not change the issue at hand. So rule them out. Something that clears it up with 50% success rate is to delete the shader.cooked file along with the usersettings.txt. After doing that and loading back in sometimes its fixed, sometimes it isn't. Whether it is fixed or not, it comes back within a day of playing.
I played ESO from open beta until today with a break in between of about a year., During that break, some components were changed in my PC specifically the video card went from an Ati Radeon 7900 to 3x nVidia GTX 980's. So not only does the hardware manufacturer change (as well as the drivers) but now SLI is involved. Since ESO doesn't take advantage of SLI very well if at all, I usually keep it disabled. I haven't tested removing the two extra cards from PC as a source of the problem but I'd surely like someone to give me some idea's of what else myself and many others with the problem could try.
I have run a repair on the game but that does not help. I've played with every in-game setting related to video settings to no avail. I haven't delved very deep in the graphic card settings in the nVidia control panel as most are set to application specific.
Any ideas?
