A race change token will literally only change your race. It will not change your class (Templar, Sorcerer, Dragonknight or Nightblade), your attributes (Magicka, Health and Stamina) or your skills - except that any points you put into racial skills will be refunded and you'll have the new races skills to spend them on instead of the old ones.

If you want to change your skills or attributes you can either do it by visiting a shrine in-game and paying gold, or by purchasing a respec scroll from the crown store.

If you want to change your class the only option is to delete the character and make a new one.

No. Race change tokens change your race.

Did you apply it to the wrong character? :-(

This. Pretty sure this one is all on you, OP.

It would be. You just changed your race, nothing else.

To accomplish what you're suggesting, you need:

    1. Race Change: Nord to Elf.
    2. Class change: Nightblade to Sorceror.
    3. Respec, too.

In my newbie mind, that's a pretty big change (and pretty expensive). I'm not even sure you can change class. It might have been simpler (certainly cheaper) to just create a new character?

Now hold a moment and explain "Nord melee" and "elf magic" for us

What do you mean by melee and magic in this case? You race changed a stamina character of some class to one of the elven races with the intent of making them a magicka build?

    Nope, no class changes.

You do realize magic and melee is just where you spend your skill points right? Any class can be melee or magic (his terms don't bust my balls people). All you'd need to do is get a respec from the shrine in a capitol city for a gold fee. If you want to change from Dragon Knight to Templar that can't be done. The race change lets you change from a Nord to an elf, but that's it.
